so im disabled in a mental illness way, and i agree w u. its like no one would call me those slurs so of course i cant reclaim them. and throwing people under the bus is never ok. i am wondering (and u dont have to answer this) how one should make the distinction when the true cause of certain symptoms are unknown? like fatigue and sleep problems are commonly from mental illnesses but are physically manifested symptoms. just wondering ur pov on this, since mine is one sided.
I’m not the best at explaining things so i’ll try my best ;-;
Yes, it is hard to tell the difference, and yeah mental illness can physically debilitate you, but you are still physically CAPABLE of doing stuff.
For most people with a m.i. (who are abled), they have fluctuation periods of fatigue/sleep issues... where as a majority of those with a p.d. it’s hard to have a fluctuation.
like a lot of physical conditions can be caused from a m.i.! like chronic fatigue. and then p.d. can also cause it as well. it’s a fine line, but there is a distinction that i can’t quite put my finger on
again, i’m very very hard at explaining things so i hope this make sense and if any of my physically disabled mutuals/followers wanna help feel free
