The chocobo that will follow your character on their travels.

at first, he doesn’t understand it. there’s nothing to be afraid of, it’s just water. lightning is easily taken care of. and thunder is just sound. his dismissiveness might make them cry. :c

but then he remembers how small and fragile they are. he’d be pretty scared if he was that small too. he sets off to find them - they ran off to hide somewhere after he was less than understanding about their fear. when he can’t find them right away, he gets upset and afraid that they’ve gone somewhere he can’t find them. he’s frantically checking everywhere he can think, until he finds them curled up in a closet with their biggest, fluffiest blanket, still crying. he sighs in relief, reaching forward and gently scooping them up in his hands.

“are you okay?”

they shake their head, face buried in their blanket.

“i’m sorry.”

they don’t move. they aren’t sure what to do. so he just cradles them to his chest and returns to his room.

eventually they emerge from their blanket to see that he’s fallen into recharge while holding them.
