I made a couple of short soundtracks a couple months ago! They're nothing concrete, mostly just musical concepts at this point, but they help set the mood when I'm testing stuff. I made all the music in beepbox, but I'm hoping to recreate them later in something a little better like FL Studio or something.
Most of (and by most of I mean all of) these tracks are just looping ambience, but I'm hoping to get better at music this year. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or criticism, I'd love to hear it!

ALRIGHT, IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I UPDATED, HUH? My apologies! As I said in my earlier update post, my family has been crazy busy. I'll be a lot busier in the future, too, since I'm gonna start my job in a few weeks.
But to make up for all that time I spent silent/time I may spend silent in the future, here's everything I've worked on thus far! This is going to be a VERY long post, so I'll put most of it under a read more!
I do mean everything. Or at least most of it lol. This here is the title screen! If you have trouble reading the text, the title says Star Flesh, and the choice box says "ATTUNE, RESUME, and END". Since I'm showing the stuff I've done so far, I'll make a new game using the "ATTUNE" option.
Spooky. There's more dialogue than just this, but a lot of it is kinda janky and weird. I'm gonna rewrite it later, but for now just enjoy the cool stuff lol.
I bet your first instinct is to make him sound British, but you would be wrong! For some reason when I was writing him, the first thing that came to mind was a deep South preacher. Like, a Protestant pastor quoting the Bible and stuff. My sister was deeply displeased when I told her Ozymandias has a Southern accent. Tbh, I'm deeply displeased with myself. Moving on!
Here's the fancy name input screen :D
Omg the first appearance of the babey (also please don't mind the placeholder sprites lmao)
Crushed it lmao
Here's the main inside area! It's kind of empty for now, and I still have placeholder sprites and tiles everywhere. As for the doors behind Pawn, one is supposed to lead down to the basement, and the other is supposed to lead up. Not suuuper clear, but it's fine for now.
Outside the building! Lookin a little weird, but it's still kinda cute.
Talking to Ozymandias to move the plot forward! He talks a L O T so I'm not gonna put it all here.
This scene is pretty tho
So there's a lot of stuff he says, but I'm running out of room for pictures lol. Essentially he just tells the player that the world is going down the trash hole and their only shot at redemption is to murdalize the Queen of the Board. And on our quest, we should bring someone along to help. Let's go get him now!
Oh there he is
Hooray! Drama!
Alright! There's not enough room for me to post more pictures, so I might extend this post into a part 2? Depends if people are interested/if I have the time and motivation.
So, I recently decided to take a break from developing Starflesh. I know not a ton of people have been following development (because I never post, sorry lol), but I figured I'd be transparent.
I really need to lock in and develop my skills as someone who uses RPG Maker. I'm still going to be working on smaller projects, but this one is going on the backburner for now. It's practically my dream game, it has all the insane lore and worldbuilding stuff that I love, but I don't currently have the writing or coding skills to do it justice.
Whoever's reading this, thanks for sticking around and checking out my posts. I'll still be here working away on other stuff.
As the name suggests, this is just a demo of my future vision. I think I've mentioned this before, but I'm planning on releasing the full game through RPG Maker MV. 2003 just doesn't have the support and resources I need for the game making process to go smoothly.
I don't know when exactly the full game (or chapters of the game? Haven't decided yet) will come out, but I'm super excited to keep making progress!
I initially did want to release the game in RPGM2k3, but the longer I worked on this version of the game, the more I wanted to change. It's been a long three years since I started this project, and I think only now do I have a clear, precise vision of what I want it to be. I know this demo is FAR from perfect and VERY FAR from what I want the game to actually be, but you know what they say: Perfection is the enemy of done. So here's the demo in all its discordant glory:
I hope at least a few people will have some fun playing. (Or a bad time playing, I'm not your parent.)
Anyways, have a happy new year! I'm the worst poster in the entire world, but rest assured I'm making progress behind the scenes! See y'all in the (hopefully near) future!
Turns out this blog turns 2 years old today! For some reason, it felt way longer than that. It's pretty crazy looking at everything I've done so far, but also knowing I've barely scratched the surface.
I have a big to-do list I've been working on before I release the demo. The thing that tends to take me the longest is graphics (no surprise there), which I have almost completed. From there, I have a few songs I want to make and some troubleshooting to do. I plan on giving the demo a full play-through before I put it on itch.io. I know that's not super necessary, but I have a bad habit of finding new and creative ways to softlock the player.

What's up y'all, obligatory new year post (i know New Years was two days ago but I,,,,, am forgetful)
I think I'm coming down with something because my voice is like, FULLY gone, I can barely talk today.
I have, as always, been making sporadic progress on Starflesh. We're so much closer to the end of chapter one, though, and now that the holidays are over I can focus much better.
Here's the area before the first real boss fight. There's still a lot of polishing I want to do before I put out the first chapter, but it will be coming out sooner rather than later. If I can get my act together, I'm thinking some time February/March time range.
Maybe I'll remember to upload more this year? To be honest, tho, everytime I think about updating the blog, I'm like.... that's also time i could be spending working on the game. IDK, maybe I'll set a schedule for myself. We'll see what happens.
