The #Duomo. Siena has a huge Duomo, and one of the first Official Activities involved touring it. Anna (the lady with the short blond hair in the first pic) was our tour guide, and she was awesome. She's a St. Catherine scholar (patron saint of the city), so she knows All The Things. Also note that even this early in the day, Camille located @haleyk310 and #starfished. The Duomo is gorgeous and big and packed full of treasures. There are works here from all four Ninja Turtles, and they were created on site, for example. I mean, come on. Just look the altar (which was getting some glamour shots done), the still-colorific-after-all-these-years writing in the library books, and all the sculptures of heads (?!?!). #EssieHerself got into it, much to our pleasure. Here, she's asking Anna the tour guide some excellent questions about the place. She asked a lot of questions, and frankly they were all pretty good ones. She also snapped a lot of photos. (Yessss my child, yeesssssss.) Meanwhile, Camille napped. See her #starfishing her momma. @colleenc0801 The Sienese didn't finish a ginormous wing of the Duomo because most of them died in the Black Plague, and they ran out of people and money. But they got one high wall up, and you can walk eleventy billion steps to the top of it. It's one of the highest points in the city, and your hair blows really hard up there. After we climbed down and left the Duomo, Camille burst into tears for #reasons. Anna the Awesome Tour Guide sat down and comforted her. Seriously, the Duomo is really somethin'. (at Siena, Italy)
