“Well, what are you going to do now? Stranded in alien space decades away from your ship. Who will you turn to?” Q mused, that impudent smirk on his face.
You glared. “Return me to Enterprise immediately.”
“What’s your game this time?” You made no effort to mask your contempt.
“I wanted to see if you would be honest.”
“What on earth does all of this have to do with honesty?!”
“Well, I knew you would never confess your undying love in front of your critical mortal superiors.”
“Your undying love for me.”
You stared, too shocked to respond immediately. “You are delusional.”
“Well then,” the entity responded, still smirking but sounding almost irritated, maybe even unsure, “What exactly do you feel about me?”
You hesitated. “I…I don’t know what I feel, but that’s irrelevant. I have to return to the ship…”
“You’re wrong! It’s most certainly relevant, because until you answer me honestly, it’s just going to be just you and me on this planet, millions of lightyears away.”
