                         She’s retreating again; from him, from herself.  Into herself.  Another nightmare has her shuddering, and she’d wandered from their room --- a wraith, tugged nowhere, haunting.  Her hands tremble and the pale moonlight slanting in through cracks in curtains bleaches her flesh bone - white.  

                    She doesn’t want to depend on him ------ to make him help SINNER MONSTER BAD GIRL her.  She doesn’t deserve it.

ashley is gr8 and i wish the fandom was nicer to her

         He is careful around her — as she is around him.  They have perfected the act of announcing one’s presence in simple, small ways.  Tapping feet or fingers, steps that could be silent but which are not.  It’s a simple way to ensure that neither are startled —— they have more than enough things to fear without addition of the accidental.  She smiles, vaguely, at his small show of kindness and is only beginning to straighten, head craning to see her husband, when his arms wrap ‘round her waist.  As though it is an instinct her own limbs shift, scarred hands raising to rest atop his own, the memory which had been too hazy to recall within that hell ( the memory of joy, of love, of care ) shimmering faintly in her mind.  Slowly, so slowly, it is growing more solid.  More real.  One wonders if one day it will be brighter than the terror.

                            She tilts her head, giggling soft beneath her breath, body leaning into his own.  There is faint surprise; she’d forgotten Valentine’s.  The surprise is gone quick as it came.  Replaced with affection so tender within her chest that it softens, however briefly, the stalagmites which perpetually crowd around her ribcage threatening to tear her tissue - thin lungs if she dares to breathe too deep.  Mia leans back into his chest.

if you asked jill what her comfort food is, she’d say anything home cooked that involves steamed veggies. she’s a bit of a health nut, not just in the pursuit of staying healthy – but because she just likes that kind of food. what she’s really a sucker for, though, is chocolate ice cream. chocolates in general will make her weak at the knees, but she tries her best to regulate her intake of it. 

jill is the type of person who doesn’t see the point in ‘dressing up’ when there’s no reason to. days off? that means there’s no reason to. comfort always trumps fashion, and frankly if she’s wearing something inconspicuous enough to not earn a second glance, she’s very happy about it. most often she wears some kind of hoodie and trackpants, sometimes jeans. if she isn’t planning to leave the house that day, she’s been known to just not bother changing out of her pyjamas. 

she’s a big fan of classic rock. eric clapton, genesis, led zep, that kind of thing. her favourite artist is bruce springsteen. jill’s also rather fond of piano concertos, but usually only listens to them when she specifically needs to relax. 

                  “You know, one of the best things about Valentine’s Day is all the candy you can get away with buying.” Does she have a personal agenda? Not likely, though it doesn’t stop her from producing a bag of chocolates from behind her back, smiling innocently. “I know hospital food’s a drag, so, milk or dark? Pick your poison, I won’t judge.”

       PASTEL GAZE  is wolfish when it flickers down to the rather BOTCHED staples on his wrist. cool. bushy brow quirking up as she continued to pointedly stare, vicky’s eyes soon wandered to the flashing thing on his wrist. it looked expensive.  ❝  sweet apple watch, mister !!  ❞
