Literally for days and days my dash was filled with heartfelt letters and prayers and condolences for the shooting such as in Paris. Not even a day later, filters were already up on snapchat, facebook already had a custom filter for profile pictures, etc. I'm just now seeing the first of a facebook profile picture. But the moment it happens to the gay community, the only ones who seem to care, are those in the lqbt+ community. Its been long enough and yet none of that has happened except from those within our community and news outlets covering the story but ommiting the word gay, and refusing to cover the fact that it was also Latin night, so yes, its likely about race too. And even if the shooter didn’t actually consider race, the news outlets certainly are. You can’t claim to not be homophobic then turn a blind eye, saying things like, “oh, someone else will reblog it, someone else will talk about it, someone else will do this, someone else will do that, someone else.” You can’t try to pass it off like that. So don’t you dare try to ignore this and hope it’ll disappear in a few days, maybe two weeks max, so your homophobic ass doesn’t have to keep seeing it and keep reading about it. Already I have seen some of the most hateful comments places like Facebook, spouting bullshit and defending the shooter. Don’t be like that, instead you could #standwithorlando
