A commission for the lovely @eraser-in-this-b for a soft, pastel, cuddle pile featuring the rooftop boys! This was a lot of fun to work on, especially the positioning and picking the colors! I love a good soft, cozy scene!

Being a dragon slayer is certainly a lonely and dangerous job, but someone has to do it, and Shouta Aizawa is that someone. He is a member of the Aizawa clan, after all. The job was supposed to be routine, just another dragon to kill to protect a nearby village, but the slayer's life changes forever when he meets Hizashi Yamada, a bard cursed to turn into a dragon whenever the sun rises. Really, there's only one glaring issue: Aizawa can't stand bards.

Hizashi doesn't deserve this curse - at least he thinks he doesn't. How's he supposed to live out a normal life of playing music and seducing women when he has horns and a tail? And that's only during the night! Nevertheless, he's survived with this curse for three years now, but his time's running out. Mating season is fast approaching and if he isn't cured by spring, he'll be completely consumed by the curse. His only hope is Shouta Aizawa, the same man who has promised to destroy him should they fail. Can the two really work together and find the cure when they can't even get along, or is Hizashi doomed to succumb to the dragon's curse?

Not 100% sure why I went so hard on this piece, but here we are! XD 

Hizashi, or Present-Mic, as his fans knew him online, was amazed when he managed to track down the infamous vigilante hacker, Eraserhead. He figured someone so well known for something as secretive as hacking would be a little harder to find, but in the end he managed it by just asking for him by name! 

Not to say that it was all easy. Of course fans didn’t bother him, not while he was logged in to his private account, but the deeper parts of the servers were crawling with hackers and rogue digimon programs, a concerning amount of which looked like... bugs. 

But he was determined! If anyone could find the person who hacked his Present-Mic account and get it back for him, it would be this guy! The man who single-handed took down the team of hackers that was scamming the Ganriki Neko forums. The man who recovered hundreds of accounts! The...

The weird, quiet kid who sat in front of him in class? 

“Aiz-zawa?” He squawked, staring at the teen in front of him. 

“Yamada,” He said back, voice quiet and cool. Just like in class. 

“Uh, Eraserhead?” Hizashi asked, sure he’d gotten his directions wrong. 

“Who wants to know!?” Another voice called as a white cat, no, a digimon, sprang from behind Aizawa and onto his shoulder. “Come any closer and that pretty face won’t be so pretty anymore!” 

“Pretty?” Hizashi yelped as Aizawa said, “Relax, I know him.” 

Finding the person who hacked Hizashi’s account was the easy part. They were in the open, logged in as him constantly, making statements and addresses to his loyal followers every other day. His other movements online weren’t hard to track either, even in the deeper servers he was easy to spot, all shiny leather and styled hair.

Shouta was quick to confront the fake Present-Mic, Gatomon ready to fight. It seemed like it would be that easy.

Then the Fake summoned a creature that, while made of data, didn’t seem to be a digimon. It looked like a nautilus, and it looked hungry. 

“This is an Eater, yo!” The Fake explained. “Hope you’re ready for lunch!” 

Gatomon didn’t last long against the creature and Shouta picked her up quickly, calling for Hizashi to run. They both took off in the same direction but got separated as the path split. The Fake and his creature followed Hizashi, cornering him down a lone alley. 

“Times up, once my Eater gets a taste of you, you won’t be able to get in my way, even in the real world.” 

“Hm, looks like you could use some help!” A voice called. 

Hizashi looked up as a bird looking digimon descended, stopping right next to him and fluttering at an even height next to him.

“I would be more than happy to lend you my assistance, my name is Hawkmon.” 

March 2020 vs. April 2019

Posted these sketches back in April on my Patreon as part of a bigger project that had been put on hold due to moving and work but I’m working on getting back on it and as a motivator I wanted to post a side-by-side of the old versions and the new versions! 

Even though these are just sketches I think my progress is really, really evident and I honestly can’t wait to finish them! The intention is for personal prints but I’ve had a few people express interest in me starting to make merch, so if you’re interested in seeing these become available (prints, stickers, w/e) let me know!
