A nice theme in the photos of mine I chose for my calendar this month, one of the most incredible weeks of my life in #Northumberland for the #FarneIslands and a hop over the border into #Scotland for #StAbbsHead in June 2019. That week I had some of most intimate and best birdwatching moments of my life particularly with my first ever Arctic Terns, some Shags, Eiders, Puffins other terns and all the other seabirds my very favourite type of birds, see a really rare bird in the Druridge Baikal Teal too, see fantastic and rare butterflies including many Painted Ladies in their big year and a Northern Brown Argus in Scotland and take in amazing views and landmarks such as Bamburgh and Warkworth Castles and take so many pictures. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPppjJXMto4/?utm_medium=tumblr

The week of activities entailed field drawing at specific seabird colonies, drawing exercises lead by acclaimed artists Kittie Jones, Greg Poole, John Threlfall and Darren Woodhead who all provided excellent guidance and inspiration. Participating in the course allowed me to try new approaches, develop a new body of work and make connections with people working in similar areas.
