Let the love within be loud enough to drown out the fear. Do it frightened, do it shaking, do it scared, But by the stars above, do it.

I wonder how long I will spend for the rest of my life cleaning up the mess 12 year old me left behind. When I attempted for the first time, landed myself in the hospital. Convinced myself I'd succeed again, this time for real, before I turned 19.

That little girl is stuck inside of me. She claws at the walls of my ribcage and cries to be let out. Begging for the escape she tried to give herself oh so many times, staring at the little white lines, the jagged pink edges, the angry red keloids that cover her body, wondering what the fuck she did.

It never mattered to her.

Not how it looked, not how it felt, not how it changed her life, because she didn't have a life. She was a victim. To man, after man, after man, until eventually she became her own victim. Taught to be worthless, shown how to deface herself under the hello kitty box cutter and the too-much cough syrup and the constant buzz of last night's high.

and now I 20 am cleaning up her mess.
