SSMonth Day 16: The Kiss

Day 1 SasuSaku month 2026 :

"That's not how you write your name," she tells the annoying boy who he keeps sitting next to her.

"You don't know how to write yours either," Naruto whines.

"Yours is written on every ramen stand, idiot!" He's always talking about them, he should know.

"Do you know how to write my name?" Naruto asks, and he blushes like she does when someone points it out about her too. That's not why she pointed it out to him, she was attempting kindness. Iruka-sensei said to be kind.

"I do," she says, trying her best to smile at the boy she was grounded for speaking to before the academy.

"I could help you with those kids from this morning, that's why you're so cranky today right?" Naruto says. She gawks at him, she didn't think anyone but Ino noticed.

"Those kids are losers, you should ignore them," her crush says. He's looking at the window. She blushes, because she didn't know he was listening.

"Sasuke's right, besides I know how to write it so there's no reason for not showing you," she says. She picks up the crayon and does her best to write his first name.

Sasuke groans and picks up his own and writes characters she's never seen before below it.

"That's his," he says.

He brushes his crayons aside and flips over the dinosaur drawing he'd been working on. He writes characters she recognizes but hasn't yet mastered.

Sakura takes it home to her mom, and shows her that she's copied her name dozens of times next to Sasuke's lesson. Mom flips it over and clicks her tongue at the dinosaur drawing.

"You wrote Itachi, that means weasel, you foolish girl. Aren't they teaching you anything at that school you're making me send you to?" her mother chides.
