Have you seen the new DIY project, "Squishy Cat?" You paint it, and it's like a stress-ball or fidget toy.
It's sticky. See the white powdery stuff? Before you can handle it, you have to cover it w/that to make it less sticky, but still squishy. You can also get a flocking kit to give it "fur."
To put the eye in, you just pop it in like this.
You can paint it any way you want and get different color eyes. Dogs and other animals are available, too. But the kits aren't cheap. They average in the $68 to $148 range depending on what you get.
