I’m going to side with JD on the whole Coulson killing Ward 

Coulson had no guarantee that Ward would stay stuck on that planet. Will seemed like he was stuck. Until Jemma came along. All the missing monolith pieces weren’t accounted for.  Hydra could have been on the other side and brought Ward back after killing Coulson. An alien could have landed on that planet and given Ward a lift back to Earth. Coulson didn’t know. He made the right decision

Coulson taking out Ward means that he's 100% dead. He had to do it.

The only thing Coulson should struggle with is which reason carried more weight at the time and I think it’s a 51/49 split between revenge and justice. They showed Rosalind in Coulson’s thoughts, but they also had him say to Ward, “all those people you killed...” It wasn't JUST for Rosalind. It was for everything. The person who is going to be the hardest on Coulson is Coulson. That’s the way it’s always been

But if you really want Coulson to bear the weight of the Rise of Squid-Ward then Hunter and Jemma should share in the weight too, since they both took shots at Ward but missed. Jemma even said that “the next things that Ward does is on me.” I think May, Jemma, and Hunter would side with Coulson, and Bobbi would be able to understand

I don't blame Coulson for Squid-Ward, I blame Ward and Malick. Because if it wasn’t Ward sent over there it was going to be somebody else. Malick was already pretty close to his goals, he just needed someone who knew how to get back. If the entity didn't take over Ward, it could have gone after the other dead hydra agents on the planet

At the end, I don’t think the look Fitz and Coulson gave each other was Fitz being afraid of Coulson, I think it was just both of them acknowledging that they saw some crazy stuff on that planet. I mean how does Fitz even begin the conversation with Jemma about how he shot and set on fire Will’s body?

Also:  If you're going to put the full weight of Squid-Ward onto Coulson, do you also give Daisy the full weight of the inhuman spread/contamination since she was the one to knock the plane of T Mist into the ocean? I think everyone on the team just chocks it up to an accident. At the the time Johnson/Coulson did what needed to be done. But like the Fish-Oil pills, Squid-Ward was just an unforeseeable consequence.
