- The narrator will talk about how something is "ideal for making [subject]", and then clarify that it's actually just the most economical one.

- About once for every subject in an episode there will be made a sweeping statistic about americans that couldn't possibly be true and was clearly provided by a company involved with making the item. "The average child goes through 730 crayons by age 10" - This only makes sense if they're drawing every single day, which most children probably weren't! (the specific reasoning is "30 minutes per day from age 2 to 8")

- Sometimes the narrator will claim that "this step can only be done by hand", and then provide a shot of the hands (never showing the face or body) of people of colour working on the item, which usually means "this step could be automated but it would cost more than underpaying immigrants".

- Actually, the general framing done in the first place between light hands and dark hands is pretty clearly divided, with light hands showing careful, "artisan" work while dark hands do hasty, "dirty" work. The people shooting have control over the shots- you don't have to depict it this way!

- Most episodes covering machinery are often "here's the hull and some mechanical parts, there's a single extremely important and complicated part made elsewhere". Just abstracting the intensive part of construction away
