Misinterpreted Song Week continues with The Who.
Most people think their song "Squeezebox" is about an accordion. Not so. Pete Townsend wrote the song expressly tongue in cheek to see if he could get away with writing one completely about sex. "Squeezebox" is a slang term for accordions and related instruments. The song consists exclusively of sexual innuendo. The song was originally intended for a Who television special planned in 1974.
And having an in-depth discussion with my mom about this song last year, and having to explain the real meaning to her... any way, enjoy.
