Sydney Squatfest! A festival of of squatting & resistance

There will be a number workshops on squatting, security culture, a presentaton by anarchists from Burma, and talks on the history of squats in Sydney. There will be an amazing spread of vegan/vegetarian/gf food available on the day, and a room that will be playing radical documentaries on squatting and resistance all day long. 

Later in the day were gunna have bands, DJS and karaoke.

This event is being organised very quickly in light of the suddeneviction notice, so there is still plenty of space for people who want to perform in whatever capacity, just let us know :) Also anyone who wants to help organising the event, you're heaaaps welcome! Cheerz,

SQUATfest Call for Workshop Proposals

"SQUATFest is a conference for birth workers, students, parents, and advocates, organized by the folks that bring you SQUAT Birth Journal. SQUATfest is like walking into the pages of our quarterly birth journal, with a focus on reproductive justice, evidence-based practice, full-spectrum care, and much more.  SQUATfest 2015 will be held May 22-24 in New Orleans.

We are currently accepting proposals for speakers and workshops for SQUATFest 2015. We are looking for workshops that represent that great breadth and diversity of birth work, pushing the boundaries of how we think and talk about birth work, reproductive justice, and parenting, while offering practical knowledge and skills. General sessions, hands-on workshops, creative spaces, evidence-based presentations, and other formats are all welcome for submission. In particular, SQUATFest aims to feature speakers on racial, socioeconomic, and gender inequities in birth work and beyond, full-spectrum reproductive care, innovative practice models for specific community needs, holistic parenting, spirituality in birth work, postpartum and breastfeeding care, and much more."
