Sure, he had followed his parents back to the motherland after college, but Kibum was now twenty four years old and had no reason or desire to live with them still. Instead, he had his own high rise on the south side of the river where he lived alone and has done so for nearly two years now. Kibum truly did enjoy the comfort and solace of being left to his own thoughts without having to worry about anyone else, but perhaps living alone was getting a little lonely.
Which is exactly why one day he managed to find himself standing outside the local pet shelter. It was a weekend so there were no classes or work to do. The perfect opportunity to go out and get himself a new dog. Getting a dog would be great because he wouldn’t feel lonely, but he also didn’t have to solve such a dilemma with a roommate.
Once again, it was his day off so Kibum was dressed down in what he would call casual attire(slacks and a button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows) so that he’d be comfortable when handling a new dog. He wasn’t sure if he wanted a young and rambunctious puppy or a chill and sweet adult dog.
After having made his way into the shelter and back to where all the dogs were in the cages, he began to crouch down next to a few here and there to meet the little creatures that temporarily lived inside of them. Some were more shy than others and some were so bouncy and loud that he was almost certain he could feel a headache coming on.
“Oi... So loud you are,” he said in a slightly endearing tone to a small puppy who kept jumping at the cage when Kibum stood up to move on to the next one. “And who are you, little fella?” His voice was a soft coo as he crouched down and stuck his fingers through the bars in front of a small poodle puppy who quickly came up to lick at his fingers frantically. The dog was so small, perhaps it was a miniature poodle. He was really cute either way. Kibum couldn’t stop giggling to himself over the pup’s desperate attempts to lick his fingers and receive attention.
