SPS Alum Talks Registering for Classes
It’s day four of the SPS Billiken Bash and SLU Online students are taking advantage of this opportunity to plan an entire year’s course schedule.
We sat down with SPS Alum, Pamela Samuels (pictured above), to talk about why registering for an entire year in advanced helped her succeed. Samuels graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Organizational Studies. “I registered a year in advance so I could plan my schedule according to my life. I tried to make it less stressful during the summer and the fall 2 semester,” said Samuels.
Not only does making your schedule in advance alleviate stress, it also ensures that you don’t have to be put on any wait lists, and that you can take the classes you want.
During the Billiken Bash, SLU Online students meet with their coaches and set up a plan for the following academic year. In the meeting, students can plan what classes they want to take and when, making the registration for classes process efficient, simple and quick. “My academic coach, Deb Blanquart, was awesome in helping me and she made it so easy. I celebrated each semester because it helped to have a plan,” told Samuels.
Having a plan is one way that helps keep our students organized and motivated. “I definitely felt like registering for a year helped me to be prepared and it’s a great way to set goals,” exclaimed Samuels.
