Never enough hats. After a packed (and not done yet) week of millinery kneezups, The Millinery Association of Australia's annual show and inaugural design competition pinged them all for thrills and sheer numbers of hats. While the Aus Ballet flit through Sleeping Beauty downstairs in the Arts Centre, 29 milliners showed off a mind bogglingly disparate array of spring hat designs upstairs. Judges were The Eternal Headonist's Annabel Allen, the MAA's dapper president and Mililiner Extraordinaire Phillip Rhodes, and Moi, Head Voxfrocker, grateful for the opp to pop on my fave 2014 Rhodes hat (pictured at the tail of this flip) one more time before my 2015 spring millinery wardrobe is mustered. Together we picked a chic, exquisitely crafted red and white tipped saucer with jutting shard details to win the remarkable prize cache including an intensive millinery workshop in Toulouse and dosh for a flight to Paris. More bubbles, another can-ape or six, chatettes with a dozenodd milliners and I'm done.
