So, I'm always getting compliments on all the pins that I have while at work since I wear most of them on my vest. Not only does it make my pain vest less boring, but a lot of them have sentimental meanings and represent parts of my personality or what I stand for. But of all of my almost 30 pins, there was always one that I was missing: an American flag, or even an Army pin. For some reason I never got around to buying one. Now I know why. Yesterday, on #VeteransDay, I had the privilege of talking to one of the sweetest people, and Army veterans, that I've ever met. As I was checking out this gentleman and his lovely wife, we were talking about all the pins on my vest and what they each meant to me, mentioning that I was gonna get an American flag or Army pin soon. Around when I was about finished with their transaction, he pointed to the American flag pin on his shirt's collar and jokingly said that I was missing one. Somehow, the entire time I was checking them out, I never even realized that he had it. He happily gave it to me, and even though I tried to refuse it, he said he wouldn't leave if I didn't keep it! So I took it, he and his wife shook my hand, and I for the foray time in a long time, I had to stop myself from letting a treat run down my face...since I was at work 😅 If there's anything that I've learned over the past few years, especially recently, If you just treat people with love, respect, and kindness, God will give that back to you, tenfold. Now, anytime I feel depressed or discouraged about the things going on around me, I just remember this beautiful moment and remind myself that there's still people out there that look out for you and want to make this world a better place. I hope and pray that I can make this much of an impact on as many people I can as that sweet, veteran and his wife did for me 💕 #SpreadTheLoveNotHate #UnitedWeStand
