On the occasions that Chat Noir visited Marinette Dupain-Cheng, it wasn’t unusual for him to produce some kind of mischief by the time that he left. Sometimes it was something that he brought with him-- typical things like every flavor beans of disgusting varieties, chocolate covered espresso beans that very immediately guaranteed that nobody was getting a good night’s sleep.

At other times it was more localized: Becoming fascinated with yarn that Marinette had lying around, which may or may not have been a result of his transformation. He had never given a clear answer, and given his ability to purr it would have been suspect either way.

Tonight’s mischief, however, was of another nature entirely.

Having climbed in through the trapdoor hiding something behind his back, the feline superhero paused half-hidden within the gloom of the roof, his secret safely secured in the darkness of the Parisian night.

“Marinette, would you please close your eyes before I come in? I have a surprise that I don’t want spoiled.” Chat Noir requested, fidgeting lightly with the parcel behind his back. His voice was laced with notes of imminent trouble, something that was only too familiar by now.

WHAT?!

She hadn’t even had time to hide the kwami when she turns to face the owner of the voice. He hadn’t been there before… had he seen her transform? In her opinion, discovering a sixteen year old is the heroine of Paris is pretty shocking. But, she can’t get in to all of that right now. In fact, she only has one question.

“..Who are you?”

Allen watched her nervous behavior and almost withdrew his hand when she suddenly took it. Of course, it shocked him a bit, but he gave her a smile and her hand a reassuring squeeze. It was just practice.

The last girl he’d held hands with was a girl named Lenalee when Lavi took them to China for a impromptu trip to Beijing. Inmpromtu on Allen’s part that is, since Lavi was supposed to give a lecture to university students. They did all of what was expected but then Lenalee found out from Komui -- the university’s director -- that they were in the area and had a nice dinner.

Allen ended up getting a little drunk but the most he’d done with Lenalee was a kiss on the cheek before passing out.

‘None of this would be possible without Lavi agreeing to this. But he says that I need to learn spoken French from you in return.’ is what he wrote out. ‘He says that you should work with a literal translation first. Like what the word is in English and then write it phonetically so it’s easier on me...’ 

‘Sorry for making you do this... But it’s to be closer to Mr Perfect, right? If we’re working to get you a boyfriend, I’d be glad it’s just one thing he asked you to do since he’s all the way in London now. I have headphones to learn certain things, so I think your load is like... halved unless he takes the tapes away.’

Allen bit his lip in nervousness and walked into the school with her, settling down in his seat once they arrived to their classroom.
