Reflecting on progress that made 2019 one of growth for me as an artist. Releasing my second album Sequoia while simultaneously working with youth at a site with the same name was beyond serendipitous, but destiny. I had such a dope opportunity working with both local artists both in Santa Cruz and in Colorado. Also reached listeners I never thought I would ever reach in Japan and Brazil. However this album would not ha e been possible without the folks that I met throughout the journey. While the way the music industry has shifted over the past decade has allowed for artists like myself to reach new levels, I'd like to take a moment to call out #spotify on its business practices whereby artists receive only a fraction of a cent for one stream and to challenge the company to pay artists for their creative works. Artists and podcasters are already demanding that spotify pay artists for their creative works.
