2, 12 and 22 from fifty more rook qs?
Thank you so much for sending me an ask! 💖 As of right now, Fivren is my canon Rook so I’ll answer for her.
2. A scene from Rook’s year with Varric and Lace
“Pay up old man” Fivren demanded jokingly, a large grin on her face and her hand outstretched, beckoning the coin from the table.
“All right, all right,” Varric replied, counting out the gold before handing it to her. “You win this round. How did you get so good at Wicked Grace anyway? I thought the Lords of Fortune were more prone to taking rather than gambling.”
“The Lords are prone to any means necessary to get their treasures.” Fivren responded, dropping the coin into the embroidered pouch that hung from her belt. She ran over the threads that covered the leather of the small bag. Brilliant blues and greens made the leaves and petals of a crystal grace flower, her finger stopping on the bright magenta that created its filament. It had been him who had taught her the game. Her eyes lost focus, the blue thread reminder her of the color of his eyes before…
“Good news, we got word from Inquisitor Trevelyan.” Harding stated as she took a seat. “She says there’s reports of suspicious activity happening near Raven’s Brook. It’s not far from here. We should see if it’s connected to Solas.”
“Rabbit would be rolling her eyes at you for calling her Inquisitor Trevelyan like that,” Varric chuckled. “But you’re right. It’s worth checking out.”
“What about Neve?” Harding asked.
“I’ll go with you,” Fivren offered, slamming down what was left in her mug. “You might need backup. And Varric can…”
“I’ll head to Minrathous. Just don’t get yourselves killed all right?” He said with a smirk, his eyes giving away the concern he felt. He held up the deck of cards, “One more round before we call it night?”
12. An argument between Rook and the LI(s)
Fivren pinched the bridge of her nose as she sighed in frustration. Taash could be so indifferent about things sometimes, even things that felt important to her. “You can’t just say that!”
“Why not?” They countered, arms crossing their chest as they shifted on their feet. “What’s the big deal?”
“The big deal is that it isn’t a big deal but you’re making it into a big deal!”
“How exactly?” The qunari replied as their brows furrowed further.
“Because!” Fivren shouted, her arms throwing up in the arm in frustration. “All I said was that I like to sneak truffles to Assan and instead of seeing that I enjoy doing it and that Assan enjoys it and it helps us bond you have to give me a lecture about how feeding him too many truffles is a bad idea.”
“Well… it is,” Taash shrugged, their indifference seeming to grow.
“It’s not like I’m giving him a ridiculous amount of them. I’m talking like one, maybe two mushrooms every once in awhile.”
“I mean, I guess that’s not so bad. Just don’t spoil him because then he’ll expect it and if he doesn’t get enough he could act out and misbehave.”
Fivren sighed again, dropping into the sofa and allowing her head to fall into her hands as her elbows rested on her knees. She took a few deep breaths before Taash sat next to her, placing their hand on her back.
“Hey I’m sorry all right? I didn’t mean to make it like… a thing.”
“I was just telling you about my day and trying to be playful with you,” the dwarf replied in a soft yet stern voice.
“Oh, right,” they said letting their hand drop back to their lap. “Sorry.”
“It’s a good thing you’re adorable,” Fivren smirked, pushing into them with her shoulder.
Taash rolled her eyes, “Don’t get all mushy on me now.”
Fivren smiled, “I won’t.”
22. In Rook’s opinion, what’s the best meal Bellara prepared? And Lucanis?
Fivren really enjoys Lucanis’ seafood paella, especially if he uses shrimp but won’t hesitate to eat more than her fair share no matter how he prepares it. For Bellara, Fivren really enjoys her forest fruit cobbler. It often changes depending on the fruits that Bellara manages to find during her travels but she always grabs seconds.
9 and 19 from fifty more rook questions?
fifty (more) rook questions (w/ spoilers) <3
5, 10, 15 from fifty more rook qs if you’re doing em!
I’ve got two Rooks now (a mother and daughter pair), so I’ll answer for them both!
Left is Phryne Ingellvar (Reaper Warrior), right is Elke Ingellvar (Death Caller Mage)
Fifty (more) Rook questions!
Five. Who does Rook romance? What was the moment that sparked their interest?
Phryne romances Emmrich. A part of it is she feels the rest of the companions are too young (Phryne is 58 years old), but at the start she found Emmrich rather dashing. His intelligence and competency in his field further added to that initial attraction. Him waxing poetic in front of a display of corpses about how life is fleeting and one should live their lives to the fullest really cemented the “oh, I can’t NOT fuck him”.
Elke romances Davrin. At first she thought he was just a tough talking brute, but she softened after seeing how hard he was trying with Assan. She’s a mother to a teenaged boy, so she could relate to his frustration while also giving him some gentle advice.
Ten. A spicy scene between Rook and their LI(s):
Phryne and Emmrich are an extremely tactile couple, so they’ve always got a hand on each other at all times. Sometimes those hands wander… I like imagining a scenario where Emmrich is looking for a book and Phryne just comes up behind him, hugging him around the waist. It’s all very cute, until her hands start drifting lower; ten minutes later, Phryne’s back is against the bookcase for support while Emmrich puts those magic fingers of his to work between her legs. >:3c
Elke and Davrin are much more reserved, in comparison. Elke is very orderly and prim, so she hates looking disheveled and out of sorts… so naturally Davrin loves seeing her like that. He’ll rile her up with some flirting and teasing, until she comes storming into her room, eyes wild, and then he’ll smirk as she pushes him down onto the floor and has her merry way with him.
Fifteen. Who else has a crush on Rook?
Phryne has always been known locally as a MILF and later GILF lmao. She had a ton of young Watchers hot and bothered as she made her rounds in the Necropolis. She has a long list of ex-flings (never any serious relationships until Emmrich came along) as well. Maybe Strife looked at her and Emmrich and debated asking if they were looking for a third lmao.
Elke inherited the MILF gene from her mother, but she was too uptight and rigid for people to develop an attraction to her beyond physical. It also doesn’t help that she didn’t have a lot of friends lol. When she joins the Veilguard, I like to think Lucanis is briefly attracted to her but knows she’s turned off by Spite, so he moved on quickly.

9, 19, 29 and 39 from the fifty rook questions if you’re takin em!
9) What is Rook like on the battlefield?
Rio is a whirlwind, crackling with lightning and fire and exhilarated laughter (most of the time). Candy is the opposite -- silent, swift, and deadly. Korbl is slower, but not slow. His sword is as tall as he is, wielded with surprising precision. Irri always has the high ground, keeping track of positioning and threats to his allies, calling directions to someone if someone else is in trouble. Whit is a sword-and-board soldier, taking hits and dealing them right back. Sticks close to an ally -- usually Korbl -- and guards their back. Kyr tends to deal damage from a distance. She prefers her staff, but if someone gets close, she knows damn well how to stab through a barrier, and she's very familiar with all the best places to stab someone. Keeps an eye on exits and hiding spots -- if a migraine hits mid-battle, she needs somewhere to duck away and take her quick-cure (which she'll pay for later, but it's better than getting dead because she couldn't see straight).
19) (i got beef with gary chapman so i'll modify this one to) How does Rook love? What kind of love do they respond best to?
Rio seeks out time and conversation with the people they like. They'll make smallish gestures (such as, in Lucanis's case, brewing a pot of coffee (and learning from him how to brew it better) or calming Spite to get him some rest) once they learn what the other person likes and needs. They really like it when someone notices these things and offers physical affection in return. (Lucanis getting them up against a wall had them... Well. It had them.) Candy just...hangs around. Usually in sight. Usually. Catlike in her preference for, for lack of a better term, parallel play. Or just parallel chilling. She likes it best when the person she loves occasionally asks for her input or assistance, but not too much. (Loves watching Davrin train Assan; loves giving her advice when he asks.) Korbl listens. He pays attention. He learns about people. He extrapolates from what he learns. And he acts on what he extrapolates. (This is, incidentally, also how Korbl hates, but that's not what was asked.) Someone he likes will never be aware that they revealed to him their favorite food, and then they'll find it waiting for them, freshly prepared, after a long, hard day. Or they'll find him waiting for them somewhere they frequent, and his small smile will tell them that he was expecting them. (He likes it when people learn about him in return. Neve's deductive mind was perfect for this. He also likes when people notice his strengths and ask for his help. Neve's cases were perfect for this.) Irri brings you along, and he goes along with you. Always up for a jaunt or even a journey with people he loves, from grocery shopping to a hunt for an enemy to a long hike to a weeks- or months-long trip. He'll invite his loved ones along if he needs to go somewhere, and he'll offer to go with someone if he thinks they need a buddy or just someone along for the ride. Very valuable bonus points if he learns something on the trip, extra points if his loved one takes the time to teach him. Or if said loved one takes the time to learn something from him. (And Emmrich was always glad for the company, and he was all too eager to teach and to learn.) Whit Looks Respectfully. They also make an effort to do the little things. Helping. Bringing someone food if they're working late. Fetching a tool or material someone needs, standing by in case they need another thing or need Whit's help with something. Besides that, they'll put themself between their loved one and any perceived threat -- training kicks in, makes them protective. And while they're not good with words, they'll offer what they can, trying not to be clumsy. (Taash didn't need the protecting, noticed the Respectful Looks, appreciated the helping, and, as they struggled with their gender, knew they'd be okay when Whit looked them in the eyes and said steadily, "I'm here for you. Whoever you decide you are.") Kyr often doesn't realize how much she loves until she's in too deep to get out. She teases. Sneaks up behind someone and pokes them in the side, makes gentle fun of them, seeks them out to tell jokes. By the time she gets to playful booping of the nose, she's too far gone. (Likes when someone matches her fun level, but loves someone who understands that Kyr always means well with it. Bellara got the gist of that eventually, and now she'll tease back sometimes. It's the nicest thing when she does that and Kyr grins all big and bright.)
29) Any vices?
Rio is a thrill-seeker, sometimes (often) to their own detriment. They're...working on getting better at the "being aware of consequences" thing, after spending most of their life as a "consequences are a problem for Future Rio" kind of person. Candy harbors a vindictive streak and is known to indulge in schadenfreude...rather a lot. (She also has a weakness for good beer. Sometimes also bad beer.) Korbl likes sex. Shrug. (Korbl likes sex a lot.) (He doesn't usually let it distract him. Usually.) Irri was introduced to elfroot not long after joining the Veil Jumpers. Now it's a staple. Whit's first few years with the Wardens were...kinda boring. They passed the time (and got to know the others) with dice games. And betting on dice games. And betting on sparring matches. And betting on who the First Warden would be mad at today. And -- you know what, let's just say gambling. Kyr has to be very careful with her painkillers. She got on some shitty ones when she was younger and got addicted. She uses the quick-cure she does, despite there being ones with fewer aftereffects, to ward her off using it too much.
39) What is their room at the Lighthouse like?
Rio: Cozy. Decorated. Very near the music room. Lots of pillows and blankets. Not so much bed. Candy: Spare (think cot, nightstand, wash basin, small mirror, not much else), but with trinkets and trophies and one (1) nice, warm, cozy blanket. Korbl: Dim, curtained. Sound from the outside is muffled to a pleasant hum. Peaceful. Unless he has a bedmate. Irri: Messy! Strewn with clothes, supplies, half-read books, and at least a few rocks that he thought looked cool. He has a desk, too, and it's as cluttered as the rest of the room. (He's probably the one with the fishtank wall.) Whit: A soldier's room. Makeshift mannequin to hang their armor when it's not in use, stand to hold sword and shield, bed, foot locker with mementos and valuables. A small bookcase, mostly holding informational texts. A desk, smaller and much neater than Irri's. A punching bag hanging from the ceiling. Kyr: Small but satisfactory. Easy to make it dark when she has a migraine. Bed's cozier than almost any she's slept in before, though. She likes that a lot. Cabinet and wash basin for her medicines. The nightstand has a small, empty sconce that holds a mage-light when Kyr's in the room and doesn't need complete darkness
fifty questions for rook
23, 33 and 43 from the fifty rook questions if you’re takin em!
23. What does Rook wear in the off hours? Do they like dressing up?
she has no interest in dressing up lol she's very much a "wear the first thing i grab out of the wardrobe" person. prefers tops with low necklines and not wearing shoes, and will only wear two layers if they're light because they're hot-blooded and will overheat easily
33. What do fear demons look like to Rook?
at the moment i think elowen's biggest fear is actually authority figures? in that they dislike being told what to do and struggle to stay in line, but they also don't like to disappoint people. it's complicated. so their fear demons probably manifest in, like, ghoulish versions of authority figures they've disappointed, angered, or fought with (parents, their keeper, strife, the first warden, etc)
43. Is Rook the type to gossip?
good lord, yes. it's a good thing they were too busy to tell the party about [spoilers] before harding did because given the chance, they probably would've let the secret slip themselves 😭 he doesn't mean to, like he doesn't go into conversations with the purpose of telling secrets, he's just a talker with no filter
fifty questions for rook
8, 18, 28 and 38 from the fifty more shep questions if you’re taking em!
I am ABSOLUTELY still taking them if anyone wants to send any in. Thank you so much for sending these!!!!
Questions taken from here.
Other questions answered here
Sticking with Serena (Infiltrator who gets given biotics by Cerberus (against her will)) and Seamus (engineer).
8. Does your Shepard like to be alone? Are they prone to isolate?
Serena:
She absolutely likes to find a nice quiet spot to hide on whatever ship she's on from time to time. After being around people so much growing up and then going straight into the Alliance, privacy and being alone is something of a luxury that she likes to indulge in. During 2, she's definitely prone to isolate due to being on a Cerberus ship, and I think in 3 as well during the Tuchanka arc because she doesn't want to get in the way of Wrex and Eve (even though there's nothing to get in the way of, she isn't about to do ANYTHING to jeopardize Wrex getting to be a father).
Seamus:
Seamus HATES being alone. While it seems like he should enjoy being alone as a quiet lil engineer nerd, the opposite is true. A lot of his childhood was spent by himself, and after he met and grew to trust people in the Alliance, he ABHORS that absence. Being around people he doesn't trust feels like being alone to him, so 2 is rough until after he bonds with Ken and Gabby more. The only times he'll isolate is if he feels like he's been foisting himself on people too much, and thinks he needs to give them space.
18. Obligatory gang beach episode! What’s Shepard doing?
Serena:
Swimming in the ocean, scouring the sand for pretty shells. Once she's gotten a lot of therapy post-war, trying to use her biotics for body boarding and the like. I think she very much ditches everyone to just have some quality time with the unforgiving force of the ocean.
Seamus:
Slathering on sunscreen while wearing UV protection clothes. Baby boy is very fair-skinned Irish, he was not built for this. Jack is having a fantastic time trying to force the ocean waves to crash the way she wants with her biotics, and he's just enjoying watching his woman. Ashley and Kaidan do drag him into a game of beach volleyball, which he gets VERY into.
28. Who is your voicecast for Shepard? Is it Jennifer Hale/Mark Meer? Do they have an accent?
Serena:
I don't really have one for her, but I don't think it's Jennifer Hale. Something to think about!
Seamus:
Robert Sheehan's natural speaking voice. His first language is actually Gaelic, which his mom spoke to him while he was growing up
38. If Shepard is dropped into the middle of the wilderness for a week, how do they handle it?
Serena:
It can't be worse than N training, but she's EXTREMELY annoyed about how much more food she has to find for her stupid biotic metabolism
Seamus:
He's not mad, just inconvenienced. It's fine, really it is, but does it have to be for a week?
