(Context for this post: I am currently watching SpookyDood's deltarune 67 theory video)
I saw a thing at one point about when Toby Fox started putting out undertale and later deltarune he had to "theory proof" (ie delete a bunch) his Twitter and Tumblr because people will look too deeply into everything he's ever posted.
And I didn't believe him for a while
Until this video
SpookyDood is pulling ancient screenshots from Twitter about something (spoilers) and saying its Gaster proof no one talks about
And now im starting to realize exactly what Toby Fox meant cuz wow
But also like I dont disagree with spookydood
JUST WATCHED DELTARUNE 67 THEORY!
7 symbolizes completeness while 6 symbolizes incompleteness. What if this means that the egg man (associated with 7) is the complete version of Gaster (associated with 6)? We know from the sans stuff that Deltarune obviously takes place before Undertale in an alternate timeline. What if the egg man is Gaster in Deltarune, an unshattered version of him? He came to the Undertale world via the strange machine, created the dark fountain there, fell into it, and from his prescence in both universes at different times, was shattered across time and space. This is what led to him ascending to become Deltarune’s “creator”, now shattered yet in control. It’s almost a metaphor for the process of creation that Toby Fox went under. The egg man lives in a world of inspiration. The gameboy green, the retro pixel art, it’s the kind of things Toby was inspired by before he made Undertale. This world motivated Gaster to create. He fell into the world of Undertale, but he had to return back. He had that idea in his head years ago, this world formed from all the things that inspired him. So he too the blade, and made. Deltarune. But by returning to that past idea, he was shattered, becoming a part of both the worlds of Deltarune and Undertale.
