There has been a lot in the last season and a half about things being out of balance. Dean, the Righteous Man, vessel of Michael, has become linked to Darkness. Sam, who is the one who sees good in Dean is linked to Lucifer, the Lightbringer. God, who is light, is absent. Amara has said that there are no parents, only the siblings, light and darkness. Carver has said he'd like the show to go through Season 12. What if Sam and Dean don't need to defeat the Darkness but bring them together so they can find balance? Light/Darkness, Chaos/Order, Yin/Yang? A new order that doesn't rely on God and angels and demons? How's that for a story arc?
