Here’s my most recent project. My husband, David, goes by @digitalsodamusic and this is his music. I created the video with my own animation couple with some video-editing.

David’s music is instrumental, and digitally produced with Ableton and other song apps. Some of it may remind you of movie soundtracks… It’s a wild mix of orchestral or symphonic music, ballads, heavy metal, “elite” elevator music (one of his friends coined that phrase lol), house music, and sometimes it’s ambient music… There are several amusing themes, and some of the music sounds like a movie soundtrack. Many of the songs could be played while doing tasks, or to meditate. It’s quite eclectic!

DistroKid distributes David’s tunes over a wide array of apps such as Apple and Google Music, YouTube, Deezer, Spotify, Amazon, Tidal, Veco, Boomplay, and TikTok, to name a few. He pays $22.99 for a year, but there are several different packages offered. DistroKid keeps none of the income: it all goes to the musician.

I usually use FlipAClip to create the videos. It’s a simple enough program for me. I find animation, art, and photo/video editing much easier on FlipAClip. It’s a great for animation, videos, or even just drawing art. Sometimes I need more audio control so I may have to use Splice. Splice also has free sound effects, music, and provides several more fonts than FlipAClip. There are also some extra effects and filters on Splice that aren’t on FlipAClip.

In February 2024 I started making this video on FlipAClip, and finished it at the very beginning of August 2024. That’s 2283 single panels! 😮‍💨

Esta App la descargue hace un par de meses y la verdad es que es bastante buena, yo la descargue gratis sin Jail Break, me imagino que aún lo es, de todas formas el precio es bastante accesible, les comentare algunas funciones que me parecen bastante bien.

La primera es que te permite hacer Slow Motion de calidad sin agregar marcas de agua, lo que deja tus video clips con un aspecto limpio y…

I have become addicted to the “#App of the Week” @theappstore, on Twitter.  Particularly when apps to assist in the making of movies are involved.  If it ends with “matic” (Cinamatic, Kinomatic) it ends up on my phone.  Though, it doesn’t really need to end with that suffix, it just seems to be a recent convention, and it adds an appeal, almost like putting “Spielberg,” “Welles,” or “Coppola” in the title.  It is a little frightening to think how quickly I will download the app with “Oscar Winner” in the title.

Honestly, though, to date the one I have used the most is called “Splice” and it is great.  It is very flexible, and easy to use.  ”Splice” offers several ways to add a little flair to your “artwork” and is just a fun app to play with.  The biggest problem with “Splice” is the end, it lacks in ways to share your creation.  But, it was one of the first apps I got, so it is ancient in technology years. Still, it has been a good friend, and a man my age should not abandon things because they are a little older.

Anyway, it is with great anticipation that we enter the next stage of our “creative process.”  Movie making here we come.
