Finally finished these concept Vinesauce Splatoon idols thing, all of them look slightly different to the other but I finally settled to some designs I liked, might have some ideas but I liked how these turned out for the moment :]

Ayyyy, guess who’s back with a new au? THIS GAL!

I’ve had this idea for a crossover story for just about a year now, born from the moment I finally got my hands on a switch and Splatoon 3 at Christmas, and irs just been stewin and brewing in the back of my mind, and, I think it’s finally time to do cook something with all the ideas I have >:D

So may I very excitedly introduce; ✨ ‘Rise of the teenage mutant ninja inkling!?’ ✨

As previously stated, this is a crossover au between Rise of the TMNT, and the Splatoon games, specifically following after the rise movie, and the story mode of Splatoon 3; Return of the mammalians. The story will primarily be following the turtles, duh, and Roe, My version of agent Neo 3! An illegal gunsmith and peddler, Roe is dragged into the far past of a world very different from their own through a rip in time. Now, Roe and the turtles must work together to figure out how to get them home, and how to stop even more rips from forming, and dragging anything else less savoury into New York City.

I’m not 100% sure how much I’m gonna reveal yet about the story, or the lore I have planned, I have a lot of ideas and things I wanna do - one of which is that I’m gonna attempt to create a fan comic of this au, something I’ve already started on and in the early stages of - but either way I’m very very very excited and want to share more like- yesterday Cx

Enjoy finding all the differences between Roe’s Splatoon design and Roe’s rise design; I had to simplify them to hell and back to fit the rise style, so a lot of details in their original design (I initially designed Roe just to be Splatoon oc before the brainworms god me) are missing. The one I mourn most is her earring, so maybe in the future I’ll add it back, cluttering their design or not.

I had a lot of fun playing with Roe’s shapes - I wanted Roe to be very square and angular, very long gangly limbs like their species, the big fin squid - and the differences between inkfish in the Splatoon canon, versus my au. I wanted the inkfish to look more, well, fish-like than they do in canon, it just kinda felt off for them to be more human, especially beside the turtles and other yokai, so I gave all of the inkfish in my au suckers on the tips of their fingers, and got rid of their noses, I’m also debating if maybe inkfish have sections of their ‘skin’ other than their fingers have differences in colouration, but so far I’ve only given this feature to my designs of Deep cut, and it may not be shared with the other idol groups, I’ll just have to wait and see.
