This was my happy face upon learning I was elected to be SPJ's newest Treasurer-Secretary. What an honor and a privilege to be the 2nd Latina ever elected to this position in its 100+ year history. Receiving this Presidential award last year was one of my proudest moments. I was honored by the Former SPJ President Alex Tarquinio, for my work in the successful co-relaunch of the @spj_pics Diversity Fellowship. It was one of the most successful to date. It shed light on how pushing the boundaries, making the call for qualified candidates to have a seat at the table, and trusting the process can do. I work hard to engage, motivate, learn and uplift.
