Spitting up
Another underrated action. Sickie's nausea is giving them horrible, wet, hiccup-burps they just can't control. Maybe they've been drinking something carbonated to try to settle their stomach, and now it's mixed with saliva and stomach acid and suddenly, one particularly nasty heave of their stomach brings up a mouthful they absolutely cannot swallow down, so they have to spit it out - into a receptacle if they're lucky, or maybe into a napkin, or the sidewalk, or . . . the floor. And it gets the yuckiness out of their mouth for the moment but they know there's more waiting to come up.
Or . . . sickie ate too much and has bad indigestion. A burp will help, right? So they're forcing them up, under their breath, trying to feel better. But the discomfort in their stomach keeps building, and the next burp comes up on its own, except it brings a little more with it. It's not a full vomit, not yet, but just enough to cause panic to set in, because the next time they spit up, there's going to be a lot more . . .

I thought about getting my son a baby bib that said “No Regerts” on it. But, then I realized that he was a baby. He had so many regurts.

they're ok, this tabletop campaign has cloning so we don't need to generate new characters if we die (which is supposed to happen a lot, though somehow this is only about the third time Merlot has died despite having single digit defenses???)
Has Delphi ever pooped or peed on you when she was a newborn?
Not that I recall. I admittedly did very little diaper changing - and I was gone more than present in the first few months, with the war and all. Though she did manage to spit up on me a number of times.
Dear Gus & Magnus,
We went to YP's around lunch to pick up Gus, then we stayed through dinner -- as has become our habit when he stays on Friday nights. But then, as we were about to walk out the door, he asked to spend the night again and Yiayia looked at us as if to ask for permission. So, he stayed again.
Meanwhile, please note the spit-up dampness on my shirt, which has become par for the course.
