Château du Tariquet XO is a delicious Bas-Armagnac which was distilled from 60% Ugni Blanc and 40% Baco grapes, aged for a minimum of 15 years before bottling. This is a delicious after-dinner digestif. Nose: Sweet spices and hints of cocoa. A little apricot and honey. Palate: Bitter dark chocolate melds with a wall of thick, sweet spice and bittersweet potpourri. Tangy oak and the faintest hint of truffle. Armagnac-Ténarèze is one of the three terroirs in the Armagnac region of France where grapes for the distillation of the Armagnac can be cultivated. This area lies between Bas Armagnac and Haut-Armagnac, covering the northwestern part of the department of Gers and the southern part of Lot-et-Garonne. Nicely balanced on the nose. Very dry on the palate and finish. Liquorice and sweet spices, big and bold coming through. A lot of oak character, with nuts.
