Spinelli had a difficult childhood. With his dad abandoning him and his mom at a young age, she had to work two jobs just to make ends meet. At school, he was picked on for being poor, often getting into fights and sent straight to the principal's office. He tried to be a good kid, he really did. Spinelli just had a temper like his dad did.

One thing that truly made him happy was sand. From the time that Ma had taken him to French beaches as a little kid, he began making sandcastles and other sculptures with sand. He didn't even mind if some idiot knocked it down, the fun was building it back up again.

The only person he'd never be angry at was his own mom, who he loved and cherished. So when she got leukemia, it terrified him. She didn't have enough money for treatment, and he'd do anything to keep her alive. Anything.

He began stealing money so he could help out Ma. He never told her of course, in case it broke her heart. He was making enough from robbing to at least get her some medication, but she didn't have long to live unless he got some sort of treatment. Eventually, he fell in with a gang and went to rob a BNP Paribas bank. They were stopped by Spider-Bro (Kim), but Spinelli managed to escape. While on the run from cops, he fell into a big vat of sand that was being tested in a particle physics test facility. Being rather careless, the scientists did the test without looking at the camera, causing Spinelli to turn into sand.

Upon reforming his own body, Austin Spinelli figured that he could use his new powers of shapeshifting into sand in order to steal more money for his mom's treatment, and maybe even to buy her a whole new house. All that it got him was numerous battles with Spider-Bro and a ticket to M.A.R.V.E.L.'s reform class.

Unlike the other members of the Sinister Seven, Spinelli doesn't actually hate Spider-Bro. In a weird way, he has to thank Kim for giving him powers, plus he's always loved sand. Still, he thinks the webhead can be a pest for always finding a way to beat him.

At M.A.R.V.E.L. he discovered ballet and it's done wonders for his anger management. He also happens to be dating They (Austin A) despite her being a hero. He shows Spinelli the galaxy and he shows her the beauty of the desert.

Codename: E Voila (Based on Shazam)

Spinelli always hated bullies. His dad was a huge jerk who told Austin that he wasn't manly for doing ballet or looking at boys. He even said "no son of mine is going to be twirling like a queer". It's why at school he'd make sure the jocks and popular kids weren't picking on the downtrodden. Only his mom was there to protect him and help him with his dreams.

These actions that led him to meet Shazam, an ancient wizard who had chosen champions in the past to spread good throughout the world. The wizard's last mortal action was to grant the boy the ability to transform by saying "E Voila!", turning him into an adult, giving him control over lightning, super speed and strength, magic invulnerability and flight.

It's rather awkward for Spinelli when he's in his superpowered form because he suddenly becomes a grown man. He thought about telling reporters that he was a teacher at D.C., but realized it'd be weird since he's seen hanging out with other kids outside of school hours. He then decided to say that he was only an adult when he transformed, but didn't say his regular identity. It's why he can't go on dates with Star Quartz (Austin A) as E Voila.

Was able to get his dad to keep away from his mom, and is often there to protect her whenever he gets the chance to visit.

Uses his newfound fame to fight against toxic masculinity, acting as a good role model for boys.

Austin A: Well, I’ve always had a thing for bad boys.

Spinelli: Oh, come on.

Austin A: What? Could’ve fooled me with your whole biker chic.

Spinelli: Okay, never say “biker chic” again.

Austin A: *Kisses his cheek* You love it.

Spinelli: Yeah, I guess. And anyway, I’ve always had a thing for chaotic gremlins.

Austin A: How DARE you?! I am not a gremlin! Take that back! Someone tell him I’m not a gremlin! I resent that!

Spinelli: *As he continues ranting* See why I love him? But, overall… *Holds Austin A’s hand* Austin is quite possibly the funniest, attentive, most beautiful person I’ve had the pleasure to know.

Spinelli - Magica De Spell

A powerful and arrogant sorcerer and duck-human hybrid, Spinelli hates anyone besting him and will always insist on a rematch if one of the other magic users beats him in one of their little challenges.

Very protective of those close to him, especially his boyfriend. He willll royally fuck up anyone who hurts Armbruster.

If you mock his ballet skills, he'll turn you into a frog.

He will often puppet around people he dislikes with his magic.

Him and Austin Q share a extreme dislike for Scrooge McDuck. Spinelli is always trying to humiliate the young millionaire.
