The November 24th fusion in the Spinearl Fusion Fest is @primroseflores23 ‘s Rhodochrosite. Primroseflores23 whose blog doesn’t seem to link. Okay.

I had the idea for this comic at the beginning of the event, and seeing the two cracked eyes on Rhodochrosite and the two-toned hair of a first-time fusion like Garnet had made me sure that I had to use her for it. The idea is, with Pink Pearl’s eye being a transformation forced onto her by a Diamond, it would function similarly to corruption, spreading to other gems she fuses with.

I hope the grass looks okay; I don’t have much practice with that. Dialogue too; people are confusing.

I know Pezz was the first for fusion fest, but I decided to put my piece last, to finish it all off with. Thanks for an amazing event, it was incredibly fun! 💕

Day 1 for @spinearlcentral‘s Fusion Fest

The November 30th, and final fusion in the Spinearl Fusion Fest is @maybehuntresswizard ‘s Rhodochrosite. Can’t link that one either.

None of the others had been an outdoors night time scene, the closest was day one’s stormy scene, so I wanted to do that for the final one. I put some motion blur on the clouds this time too.

I can’t really think of much to say about this fusion. I took a long time to decide on a pose; I had thirteen different sketches before I settled on this one.

The November 19th fusion in the Spinearl Fusion Fest is @justagirlnamedjel ‘s Pezzottaite.

I really like the design on this one; the jacket is fantastic and I really quickly settled on an idea for her. Kudos to Jel.

So, I zeroed in on the line: “Has a huge fear of unfusing, afraid she’ll never exist again,” in the information doc and built a scene around that. Maybe she’s been fused too long and others are worried for her, concerned about codependence or avoiding their problems by choosing not to exist. I don’t know if they’re correct; that’s up to Jel.

The November 23rd fusion in the Spinearl Fusion Fest is my very own Pink Tourmaline.

I did a comic for this one and I played around with effects like the cracks/webbing around the final panel and the shattering effect on the Pearl panel before it. I like it.

I made use of perspective grids in this one, which I haven’t done a lot in the past, to put together Tourmaline’s room and the ribbons.

And speaking of the ribbons, I had the idea while making this comic that with the spider iconography, Tour’s own ribbon and bow, and the performer aesthetics, that Tour’s ribbon could function like a cross between a magician’s never-ending handkerchief and spider silk, so that’s a thing now.
