Gaara’s breath clouded with every soft exhale, momentarily blindinghim, before fading away into the night sky.

He didn’t mind though, it gave him the tiniest respite fromthe wind biting at his face and the way the steam twisted and curled before itdisappeared was strangely fascinating.

And, with his boyfriend moulded firmly against his back, feetnestled in his lap, arms holding the thick blanket they were both nestled intightly closed against the winter chill, Naruto’s slow breaths burning hotagainst the back of his neck … the warmth filling him from the heart outwards wasfar more powerful than any discomfort from the cold.; though he seemed to be startingto drift off just slightly, judging by how deep and relaxed his breathing wasand how heavily he was leaning into him.

He didn’t mind that either.

Watching another cloud of mist melt away before his eyes,Gaara pushed back a little further into Naruto’s body – warm, as it always was,though in weather like this that was probably more a curse than a blessing, it onlymade the wind leech the heat away from him even faster – just enough to nudge athis cheek with his nose.

“Are you alright? We can go home if you’re tired,” hemumbled, almost terrified that raising his voice any higher might somehowshatter this wonderful, comfortable, perfect moment.

The blond hair tickling against his face made him want toflinch away, but that would also mean losing the burning heat of Naruto’s softchuckle into his skin.

It was not a trade worth taking.

Pressing soft, whisper-kisses against his neck with everytwist of lips – sending pleasant shivers through Gaara’s entire body – he mumbled,“No, I can stay up longer. I made a promise.”

“I really don’t mind if you-”

“Nope, I promised, so we’re staying and that’s final!” Itwas amazing how he could make a determined exclamation without actually raisinghis voice above a low mumble. Smiling just slightly, he accepted the answer andthe two settled once more, both silently watching the thick, puffy clouds driftby; it was too cloudy and they weren’t quitefar enough into the countryside to see any stars, but the moon was brightenough to illuminate the hills and fields stretched out before them, castingthe trees as strange, delicate, crystalline structures and glittering off the narrowriver just at the edge of his vision.

It was still a beautiful sight, even if the wind brushedagainst them with fingers of ice, seeping deep into their flesh with everybreeze, even if his legs were starting to go a little dead where Naruto’s wereresting against them, even if the inevitable escape from their comfortablelittle cocoon to trek back to his boyfriend’s tiny, old, beat-up car that wouldundoubtedly be even colder than the air outside it would be a truly hellishexperience.

Just having this time with the one he loved – quiet andpointless as it was – was enough to make the trip out here worth it.

Gaara closed his eyes and snuggled as far into both Narutoand the blanket as he could, his hands gently rubbing at his knees as the blondstarted humming the tune of some cheesy pop song, rocking them both completely off-rhythm.

The gentle movement, warmth surrounding him and low melody beingsung directly in his ear quickly had him on the edge of drifting off, until itfaded away and his boyfriend was gently poking his side under the blanket,giggling with the kind of endearingly childish excitement that only Narutocould pull off.

“Hey, babe, look,” he whispered into Gaara’s neck, nudginghim awake.

Blinking his unwilling eyelids open, he had to blink againjust to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. He’d seen snowfall on tv, in photosbefore, but he’d not understood why it had seemed so important to Naruto thathe see it in person. Until now.

It was only a few flakes, the beginnings of a snowfall thatwasn’t likely to leave even an inch of slush on the ground once it was over,but it was real and close and he’d never though somethingcould fall so slowly. Careful to keepas much of them covered as possible, he carefully reached one arm out from theirmakeshift tent and stared, fascinated as one flake gently drifted onto hispalm, glinting against the black of his glove before melting away into nothing.

He honestly didn’t have any words for it, but that was ok,Naruto would know just by looking at him.

“Worth it?”

Quickly retreating back into the safety of their cocoon,Gaara just nodded once, leaning his head back against a firm shoulder and watchingthe snow dance across the sky.

Fun fact, where I work we have talked about this a couple of time and I have always been looked at funny when I answered that yes, I would probably do it. But only if it’s to survive. Like I’m not Elle the friendly cannibal neighbour, don’t worry. But in extreme situation, when it’s about survival, I think there is a point where you just do what you gotta do. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t need therapy after that though XD

☾ - sleep headcanon

she’s a really light sleeper, the tiniest sound or shift can wake her up and it always takes her a long while to get back to sleep (she compensates by napping a lot throughout the day)

★ - sad headcanon

when she was still living on the streets, she once made friends with an older kid who taught her some tips and tricks for surviving, she considered him to be like her older brother, until he fucked her over when running away from the authorities one day by getting her caught to save himself (she struggled with accepting shinki and araya as her bros for a while because of it, but she eventually decided that she was just going to be a better sib than he ever was)

sometimes when she’s having a tough day, her and gaara will stay up late together to stargaze, they’ll show each other all the made-up constellations they both created in their childhoods and talk about the stories behind them until yodo falls asleep and gaara (really carefully) picks her up and puts her to bed

☠ - angry/violent headcanon

yodo’s fighting style is very brutal, she like to use chakra strings, but instead of controlling puppets or binding people, she uses them to literally pick people up and slam them into walls and floors, though she can be a good tactician when she tries, shes much more fond of just ending fights fast and hard before her enemy can gather their bearings

she’s a chronic hoarder and her room is pretty much always a mess, even when she’s been forced to clean it and it looks empty her things have usually been stashed in random hidden places like under the bed, inside her duvet covers and behind her wardrobes

yodo is a distant relative of the common limpet and will regularly just cling onto her gf as they’re walking around; making her give her a piggyback, sitting on her shoulders, clinging onto her legs when she wants to be a brat and climbing up her front to give her a kiss (chouchou is too taLL)

she’s always thought that her auntie tema is just the Coolest and she tries really hard to emulate her because she’s everything she wants to be when she grows up (though she quickly drops learning wind jutsu when she has little aptitude for it)

yodo doesn’t actually have a ton of friends, she’s not shy or anything, she’s just quite happy with her bros, a few academy buds and her group of friends in konoha and doesn’t feel the need to make any more

despite her punk fashion sense (though she does really like punk rock) she’s got a really broad taste in music, she likes rock, pop, jazz, classical, edm.. p much everything tbh. except country.

she was very late learning to talk, she had a few carers in her early years who taught her bits and pieces but she didn’t actually start conversing till she was like 3-4 (most of her first words were swears)

as she reaches her 20s she has a brief panic about her life’s direction and starts fretting about having a Big Ambition, she tries out a lot of new things during this time and announces a new career goal every week, until she finally settles down when she realises that she was much happier when she was just enjoying her life and not thinking too hard about the Future (as long as she’s got her fam and her Best Girl she doesn’t really care about having a big important job or anything)

♒ - cooking/food headcanon

she eats a LOT, but is surprisingly a pretty healthy eater, always makes sure she gets her vitamins and proteins and only splurges on junk food on special occasions/when she needs a break day

yodo cares about her looks wAY more than she’d ever let anyone outside her fam and friends know and she has three (3) wardrobes full of clothes (gaa doesn’t get why she needs so many, but it makes her happy so he doesn’t mind)

The TV wasflickering colourful lights across the back of her eyelids and the constantstream of screams and crashes was grating on her ears, but Yodo had never feltmore at ease.

“I’m hungry.”

She moanedand snuggled further into her girlfriends oh-so-comfortable body. “I ain’tmoving,” she mumbled sleepily.

“You ate allthe snacks, just get off for a minute.”

Yodo feltthe shifting beneath her and immediately swivelled around to better mouldherself to Chouchou’s body. “Nooooo, ‘m comfy here.”

There was a snortas hands tried to wriggle themselves under her shoulders, she wrapped her armstightly around her stomach in protest, the snort turned into a groan. “Oh my god, you’re such a baby,” Chouchou said,her voice only slightly amused.

“I’m yourbaby.”

“Ughhh,dork.”

The handswere now sneaking further down to her stomach, Yodo tightened her grip inanticipation of the attack, the second fingers slipped under her hoodie andreached bare skin she almost lost it.

Prickles ofalternate delight and irritation shot across her midsection and she had tofocus ridiculously hard on keeping her grip tight while also squirming awayfrom the fingers skittering along her sides. “No!”

“You’vegotta get up sooner or later,” her girlfriend said and she could hear that smirk even without looking.

“Neve-eek!”Her breathing was becoming ragged as all her most ticklish spots were poked inquick succession, but she couldn’t let her greatest weakness beat her today, didn’tlet her arms loosen for a second; in fact, she brought her legs into play tokeep herself anchored firmly against Chouchou’s perfect, warm, soft, comfy body,even as the onslaught intensified and a hand wormed itself between their bodiesto get at her vulnerable belly.

They wereboth laughing so hard they could probably be heard next door, but she loved howdifferent the sounds were, her high-pitched screeches and cackling complimentedby Chou’s lower, huskier giggles and snickers.

Shikadai hadonce said that their combined laughter was the sound of Hell itself, but she didn’tcare; it was the most beautiful noise in the world.

“Admitdefeat!”

“Nooo,” shecould barely suck in enough air to speak, “you’re my pillow.”

The attackstopped all at once, though neither stopped snorting and giggling for a goodminute while they each caught their breath.

Yodo took the opportunity to snuggle further up hergirlfriend’s body and bury her face in the crook of Chouchou’s neck. “I win.”

She snorted and flicked her ear. “Yeah yeah, c’mon Shikadai,” she said, already shiftingher body off the couch, wrapping her arms securely around Yodo as she rose toher feet, “if you ain’t getting up, then guess we’ll just have to do this thehard way.”

Their combined weight swayed as Chouchou carried her intothe kitchen, Yodo grinned happily into her girlfriend’s generous cleavage asshe waited for her to grab what she wanted so they could go back to cuddling onthe couch and not even pretending to pay attention to the horror film that they’dchosen at random when nothing interesting was on.

“Hey babe, say ahh.” The voice rumbled pleasantly under hercheek, but she still lifted her head just enough to see the box of macaroonsbeing pulled out of a cupboard.

Yodo grinned and opened her mouth expectantly, closing hereyes as she waited for the sweet, subtle, fluffy bite of delic-

Her mouth was suddenly filled with crinkling plastic.

Green eyes shot open and she crossed them enough to make outthe upside-down label of a packet of Chouchou’s favourite crisps caught betweenher teeth.

She glared up at her girlfriend, who was grinning wide, hereyes sparkling in that way that always made her feel dizzy. “Hold that for me, ‘k?”she said, already gathering her other treats in one arm and together theystaggered back into the living room and flopped heavily onto the sofa.

The second they were down, she spat out the tastelessplastic and realigned herself to Chouchou’s body, until she was curled up intoher side with her arms clinging to her like a giant teddy bear.

They both let out a simultaneous sigh as they settled backinto cuddling and eating and ignoring the flickering of the TV and tragicallyfake screaming. Yodo smiled and focused instead on the strong, steady rhythm ofher girlfriend’s heart beating under her ear.

“… I’ve gotta pee.”

What colour do you wear most frequently?

Black or grey. I’m not really big on color XD

Do you have pets?

I do! I have two cats, Spork (12) and Fruit (10). Spork is currently not doing very well. She had a massive heart failure a few weeks ago and now is on a ton of medicine. They warned us that it may happen again in the next 6 months, and we are already seeing the being signs of it. So we are taking every day we can to shower her with love and affection until it happens again and we have to put her down.
