Vanitas had been in plenty of bad situations before, but this was probably close to the top of the list. Because of that girl -- Aqua -- he’d gotten hurt, badly this time. He needed to retreat, needed some time to recover. So he’d opened a Dark Corridor without thinking too hard about where it would take him, limping through and out into the new world.
The first thing he noticed was the Light. It was so damn bright here, he had to resist the urge to turn right back around. He didn’t have the energy to waste on that, though, so he’d best get used to it. He dragged himself to a shady nook, letting himself collapse onto the sandy ground with a groan, propping himself up against a tree. Wherever he was, he’d better get comfortable… he didn’t think he’d be going anywhere for a while.
