             he’s just gotten out of the shower,  which explains the reason behind his lack of garb and, even more, the CONFUSION written all over his face  —  he knows diana has a soft spot for children   ( or teens.  or people under thirty  )  so truly,  he shouldn’t be phased by it by this point. 

   ❛ it was a long long time ago, barry. ❜   diana spoke up, but kept her head down. it wasn’t often she spoke of her time before, the time she first came to his world, leaving everything she knew behind. her home, her friends, her family, HER MOTHER. to enter a world, filled with nothing but wonder.   it was strange to think, that only one hundred years had passed, a hundred years of horrors. of isolation and loneliness, only know able to open up to the people she now considered her family.    ❛ ...long before you were born... very long before. ❜

   there is a reason themyscira is known as  PARADISE ISLAND.  it never rains or snows,  the sun is always bright upon their shores,  gracing the land to look as beautiful as it can be.   the amazons take deep care of their home,  their PARADISE.   themyscira is their second home,  the first home of the amazons being amazonia,  the original themyscira.  but after being run out and amazonia now becoming modern day  TURKEY.  the amazons were graced with an island in the mediterranean sea,  the island is protected by a shield created by the gods,  stopping anyone from finding themyscira and destroying the amazon’s paradise.  but also stops the amazons from seeing the outside world,  the man’s world that is changing before their very eyes.

   diana, whom was born and raised on themyscira.  loves every inch of the island,  during her youth,  whilst her mother saw to her duties as their QUEEN.  diana would take her horse,  kachi and explore the island,  finding new locations and caves,  exploring as much of it as she can.  but as she grew,  she had explored almost every inch and was missing that feeling of discovery and exploration.  that is when diana began to wish that she could see the world outside of  PARADISE ISLAND.

   themyscira is very much built like an ancient greek city,  with magical entities that allow the amazons to stay youthful and immortal.  including diana,  whom had stopped aging completely when she reached adulthood.  the amazons,  though had no more fights to fight,  would still train day in and day out.  antiope would even try to come up with new tactical movements to try and make their training sessions more challenging.  diana would sneak out every day with antiope,  against her mother's wishes and would also learn the moves that antiope had been teaching her army.

   diana lived within the palace of themyscira,  as their PRINCESS,  it only made sense that she did so.  her room had one of the best views of the island,  and she was even able to make out the shield that surrounded themyscira from her opening.  and would at times wish to be able to see what is beyond their island,  what kind of wonder and mystery is out there.  but the amazons had inflicted the fear that if an amazon leaves,   they may never return and would lose their IMMORTALITY.   ( which wasn’t the case for diana,  due to her father being zeus, the king of the gods. )

   themyscira has giant gardens,  that diana would spend most of her time.  among the gardens,  possessed a flower that diana had discovered herself,  that also possessed the same ageless gift that the amazons had.  once this flower was picked,  IT NEVER DIED.  and it was diana’s favourite plant among the garden,  and would give these flowers out to the amazons around her,  with a charming grin.

   everyday the amazons would thanks the gods and goddess.  zeus, hestia, aphrodite, demeter, athena and artemis. whom gifted the amazons with their life,  strength,  courage and their home.  the home that they are eternally grateful for.  they blessed their gods with statues,  representing them and to thank them for their home.  hippolyta encouraged diana to thank the gods,  to think about the paradise that they were given and the gift of IMMORTALITY,  hoping to prevent her daughter from straying.   but diana spent more time thinking about the outside world than her own home and the gifts it possessed.

   but since leaving themyscira,   ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO.  diana finds herself missing it more and more,  every since the death of steve trevor and the rest of her team. etta, sameer, charlie and the chief,  diana wasn’t sure if she could continue to live in a place that didn’t feel like home.  and in 2016,  diana had hoped to return back to turkey and find a way to re-enter themyscira’s shield, to see her mother and her fellow amazons after being away from them for so long.  but life had different plans,  and after one hundred years of not wearing her armour or living by the name as  WONDER WOMAN.  diana had to save the world of men once again from a terrible fate and delaying her return home.

   ❛ barry. you cannot save everyone ... ❜   diana took careful steps towards her, slightly hesitating as she moved towards him.   she knew this feeling too well. that hurt, the pain. knowing that you could save everyone, but at the same time it was IMPOSSIBLE.   it happened to her, a long long time ago. a village, small, quint, but filled with life. veld, was the village she had saved, nearly one hundred years ago.   BUT only twenty four hours, and it was destroyed, and she couldn’t save them. so many lives lost.  men, women and children. all gone.   and diana spent every waking moment of her life, for the next hundred years, thinking of ways she could’ve saved them. how to protect them.

   she sighed, taking a seat beside her.   a gentle hand reaching out to be placed on his back, rubbing in soothing circles, trying to find a way to comfort him.    ❛ ... i know you wish to save everyone. but ... we can’t save everyone, barry.   i know that is not what you want to hear. i didn’t either. ❜   diana lowered her head, but kept her comforting her hand upon his shoulder.

   ❛ we do what we can. we TRY to save as many as we can ... and sometimes that means not everyone ...  ❜   she swallowed the sudden lump that grew in her throat.    ❛ i’m sorry. ❜   

   ❛ no. it isn’t.  but i can tell you that  WHAT you are doing, is idiotic and reckless.  and you are just asking to get yourself killed, barry!  i cannot stand here and allow you to do that?  this is stupid! ❜   her tone was harsh,  as was her body language.  visibly upset that barry would think it wise to go ahead with such an ordeal,  then try to tell her that  IT WAS NOT UP TO HER.  as it wasn’t,  she couldn’t really tell him what to do.  but she could stop him, with all her might and power.

   she moved closer,  her teeth gritting together.  after years upon this world,  watching the people she called her friends and family  die  around her.  she wasn’t about to leave  MORE  die before their time.   ❛ barry.   LISTEN TO ME.  i beg of you.  do not do this. ❜

   ❛ what i do is not up to you. ❜   diana almost snarled her teeth at barry,   it wasn’t about if barry could or couldn’t let her do this,  it was about what was right.  which meant that she had to do this,  as an amazon and as a member of the JUSTICE LEAGUE.  this was her duty.  swinging her sword in her grip,  her hold became tighter until her knuckles became white.  her eyes gazed away from barry,  focusing on the trouble at hand and pushed away all thought and worry.   THIS IS WHAT SHE HAD TO DO.

   her shield rose,  her grip on the back handles tight enough that she knew,  no matter the force she would not let go.  but something was stopping her from moving her foot forward,  and she found herself taking another look back at barry,  a smirk growing.   ❛ ...don’t worry. i’ve done this before. ❜
