It is so difficult. Pretty much everything in M1108′s containment has been switched out from the basic materials. I am sure that only the walls, floor, and ceiling are the same. We also provide additional clothing to S-class specimens that are copies of what they were wearing before, but apparently the fabric we used was TOO different and unfamiliar. Lawson would not compromise on that issue, but M1108 seems to tolerate it, even if it’s not its preference. -Nicole Castellano

Well I don’t think we’ve had J0702 for long enough to gauge that, but J1007 has a real sweet tooth! It’s easy to bribe him with treats as a reward. -Rebecca

Interesting. So you are saying that it’s the familiarity that makes music or other sounds tolerable. That does make sense, in a way. I am not an expert in the particular condition that we think M1108 might have, so I wouldn’t know. I should do some research... -Nicole Castellano

I actually HAVE told M1108 that. Though you may be right, it might not have believed me. And honestly, that’s all its fault. I try to be fairly honest at most times, with everyone, not just the specimens. And no, I did not notice that, because I haven’t seen that one. -Nicole Castellano

I enjoy the assumption that M1108 would tell me something like that. M1108 may remain quiet out of spite, and if not, there have been instances when M1108 has be actually UNABLE to communicate what the problem is. For instance, there was a time when the specimen was moping about and biting itself frequently, and when I asked him what could be done to stop it from doing so, it would just repeat “I don’t know.” We were at an impasse until Dr. Drake brought a seal plushie into work one day and said “give it to him” with no further explanation. Yes, I realize that something needs to change with M1108. The problem is figuring out WHAT.  Let me tell you something. M1108 has been the most difficult specimen I have ever had to deal with. J3110 never causes this many problems, and I don’t believe any of the other supervisors have had this much difficulty with any of the others. We had to figure out a way to contain it, then once we realized that a blindfold would be sufficient, we had to create an entirely new fabric that would be the perfect combination of flexible and firm. And then we had to do that two more times because the texture of the fabric irritated M1108. And then we had to change out practically everything in the containment because of the texture. And we’ve had to add and take out several things since then, had to make sure none of the [REDACTED] workers take any of the plushies or else M1108 will throw a fit and cause the entire floor to spike in temperature, try not to take away the music player for too long or M1108 will become too aggressive—it’s a constant headache. Yes, clearly, something new needs to change. But I don’t know what. -Nicole Castellano
