I can't believe how quickly Summer is growing up! 3 going on 13. She's entering that zone where she wants to be involved in everything. . She's so independent, it scares me. I'm not sure if the way she acts is age appropriate or if me needing to tend to Riley's every need has forced her to grow up fast. . This evening she gave herself a wash and brushed her teeth on her own! Then she said 'I'm going to brush Riley's teeth' Summer got Riley's tooth brush, put on the paste and then like a mini me she imitated my every move trying to get Riley's attention, trying to take out his dummy and prepare him for what's next. . I can't really describe how it felt other than heartwarming to see my little Summer helping with her big Brother. . Riley loved Summer's attention and they laid in bed together watching the final hour of #cbeebies . Summer said 'Mummy, Riley's holding my hand' . In a 'normal' situation, a 'normal' sibling relationship an eyelid wouldn't usually be battered at something like this other than its cute. But for me to see the interaction between my 2 babies one 'normal'....(whatever that is) and one special needs child is AMAZING! . It goes without saying I'm very proud of both my children! . Today's #instadaily pic is of Summer reading through Rileys #pecs symbols which are meant to help Riley with his communication skills. . #specialneedssiblings #instagood #autismawareness #cowdensyndromeawareness #independence #brothersister #affection #unconditionallove
