Disco-Like Mecha RPG except combat is only a series of flashbacks because “The stimulants make it hard to think clearly, but you can recall bits and pieces- shattered fragments of violence, orders, and pure joy…” so the entire game focuses on the fucked-up relationship between the Mech, Handler, Engineer, and yourself- the pilot. Balancing your relationships with your support crew against the praise of your handler, NPCs reacting to your half-remembered exploits, praising your accomplishments on the field while silently avoiding the shriveled husk they see on the base between missions, deciding if making the moral choice in combat is worth being taken off future missions, coping with withdrawals from your combat stims and the highs that come with War and Obedience- and worst of all, separated from the mech who becomes increasingly human the more time you spend with it, showing you the kind of treatment you have demanded she shows to others- whether it becomes a cold and calculating killing machine which uses your neural links to push you to greater acts of violence and depravity, or a merciful AI which sees the flaws of the system you haven’t had the energy to seek out yourself- a rebel in the ranks who wants to run away with you, but is more than willing to leave you behind if it means stopping the slaughter of innocents, no matter how much it hurts you both
