do you know what’s heartbreaking? last year i bought birthday supplies for— no reason, really. i didn’t have a birthday party cause i didn’t have any friends. but i bought stuff for it anyway; i don’t know, i thought maybe i could get the courage. for something. anything.
but no friends meant i kinda couldn’t have a “party”.
i was so exhausted and depressed last year that i didn’t even set up my own table. i bought items to do that. i couldn’t even get the energy to put it together, though.
look at this.
like, come on. i ended up shoving the entire party city grocery bag in the back of my closet out of pure shame for being so unenthused and so lack of energy.

man idk i haven’t been feeling well lately (can you tell?) but i do want to say my graces. i’m so unbelievably thankful. i walked into my room after a self-inflicted horrible day at work (the day itself was fine. it was my own sour mood that made it insufferable) and i genuinely felt the annoyance ooze out of me. i opened the blinds. sat in my room and finished reading a magazine. just enjoyed the quietness of it, where i could look up and see pink. pink, pink, pink. the whole world is pink. i’m so thankful and proud of my little corner of the entire world, where everything is my decision, and i’ve put things where i want to.
this is my bed. my room. my pink walls. my stuffed animals i have collected over 27 years of existence. i get to sleep in lavender scented sheets cause i want to. i treat myself like a princess in my own room and im not shamed for it. i share this place with nobody. i never will. i’m the only being in the world that has the privilege to be in this room.
it makes me make biscuits into my own bedding with how happy i am. my sweet little safe haven, all mine, mine, mine. thank you, life, for giving me the chance to make this mine:
