you know what i'd like to know. why exactly parallel lines scrambles my brain so hard. so i have those blue guide lines because i have spent so many hours on this painting i just can't deal with me placing face parts in the wrong place and having to move them, so i'm giving myself a little hand here. i still managed to have the hair WAY too high and had to move it down like, a solid inch. but let me TELL YOU.
i'm trying to do the shadows and hair on the top right part of jensen's head and it's like i just can't count/see/understand/grasp what is happening. i can count dark shadow line, lighter shadow line, darker shadow line, dark hair chunk, light hair chunk, slightly darker hair chunk, lighter hair chunk. but then i try to actually do that and i'm going crosseyed. and when i try to add in that i'm trying to make those lines in reference to the guide lines???? it will take many iterations to get anything in the right place.
i am YELLING because it's such a disorienting feeling, it's like trying to hold water and it keeps slipping away and there must be some particular brain thing that causes it but i don't know what it is and it's annoying :p presumably related to my particular deficits with certain types of spatial ability. like mental rotation skills, nearly nonexistent and actually nonexistent mental visualization. and related, presumably, struggles following any sort of line across a page which i've yelled about before as well 🤪
