i feel like the spat fics are definitely annoying and unhelpful but unless they're sexual or violent they aren't that bad in the grand scheme of things... but hard emphasis on the annoying and unhelpful especially as the same clowns who post rpf on twitter then screenshotted it were doing it with those to "own" him and inflaming the situation. hopefully ao3 takes them down, or if they don't have such a mechanism they develop one in future. i do think if someone explicitly states they are uncomfortable with fanfiction about them that should be respected.
i agree, especially with your last point, if, god forbid, a rider ever saw any fics of themselves and even hinted they were uncomfortable, i would immediately remove anything i'd ever written, probably delete my tumblr and completely forget about this part of my life. and i'm sure everyone else would agree. why is spat any different? he is still a human, still uncomfortable.
