All the worry // Challenge
Mira sat silently in the courtyard. She watched the others going through their preparation's, all of their little rituals and good luck routines before their plan unfolded. Mira herself had nothing to do beforehand, nothing but time to think over past events and everything that had lead to this point. She thought of those whose past in the mines and the injured who managed to return home, Nasir hadn't fully healed yet and she knew he was itching to join the rest of them in their rescue. She thought of Spartacus, his determination and hope in his plan. She thought of how more often then not nowadays his eyes would look off into the distance and she knew who occupied his mind and it wasn't her.
Mira wasn't raised as a fool, she knew that his love for Sura still burned bright and she also knew that he cared deep for her also, but it wasn't enough. Mira wanted and needed his whole heart, but it wasn't his to give. He was after vengeance, the death of his wife had started all of this and how could she blame him? She had yet to lose somebody she loved as much as Spartacus loved his wife, she was sure she would move the earth in her own vengeance if it came to it. She couldn't help herself though, her own selfish need for him sometimes threatened to overtake her rational brain and sometimes she wished she could make him love her. She turned when he appeared behind her, his hand ghosting her waist as he stood close. She smiled warmly up to him and melted to his touch, basking in the quiet, tender moment before it all began.
