I was wondering what would change in the Membrane family after the events of into the florpus, seeing how Cal would be revealed to be an Irken. Would Membrane still pretend to believe aliens don’t exist?
Nah he’d drop the charade at this point. No point in pretending when the kids know now
Dib is mad and refuses to speak with his mom for a while. He feels a bit betrayed because he realizes he’s the very thing he had been trying to capture for so long. On top of that, his mom had been one of his biggest supporters (the other being his friend Liz) so finding out she’s not only an alien, but the same kind as Zim, is a big shock to him.
Gaz handles it a little better, she’s still a bit pissed Cal didn’t mention it sooner and that could’ve prevented some stuff, but she understands where Cal’s coming from and is a little more mature in realizing why it was kept a secret
Eventually everyone comes back together and Dib and Cal reconcile, but there’s a lot of tension for a bit, especially cuz everyone was traumatized by the events of the Florpus.
