April <3 I don't know her extremely well but I have a deep care for her. She shines in her strength and her smile and she gives the sweetest hugs. She's a genuine person and though I don't always reply I keep an eye on her blog and always send good thoughts and prayers for the tough times she posts about. I genuinely wish her the happiest life and the strength to march through all struggles, current and future, and I hope she one day sees in herself the beauty and strength I see in her - the beauty and strength I see even in how little I get to see her. Earlier this year when you finally apologized for the ways you neglected me when Matthew was sick/dying, I saw you in a new light. I thought I forgave you, thought I had reached an inner peace with the ways you have hurt me, but living at home with you has brought those emotions back and I am so sorry. The hardest thing about our relationship is that despite it all I still love you tremendously. I still think you're one of the best moms around. But I cannot help the anger I feel toward you, the hurt, and the attitude it results in. I cannot help how poorly I deal with how different of people we are. I wish I could. I know this behavior is my fault. I hope for both our sakes I'll never have to live at home again. I know it's better for the both of us and know that despite it all I do love you.
Dear Teacher (Ms. McMillan),
McMills, you are straight up one of the best teachers I've ever had. But I'm glad I had such a difficult time choosing - I've had so many great teachers in my life (honorable mentions are Mr. Wood, Ms. Stark, Mr. Lewis, Mr. Graber, Mrs. Lopez, Mr. Young, and company) but you were the first one who felt like a friend to me. You're the easiest person to talk to, our wit can keep us going for hours, and you are the only teacher I would ever entertain having a Harry Potter sex talk with on my Facebook wall (I am so glad that happened). You're the coolest. Thanks for inspiring me to be my own coolest.
Dear Someone You Only Spoke to Once,
You're off in Tokyo now doing very princely things, but when you were in choir with me at college I really enjoyed having you around. I regret that I didn't try harder to befriend you - I was scared, and I'm sorry for it. But the one time I decided to approach and have dinner with you, I really enjoyed it. I think you're wonderful, and I hope life treats you well. From what I could tell you are kind, sweet, caring, smart, and funny, and you deserve nothing but the best.
