I was thinking about SP!Leon the other day 👀, and I was wondering how you think he would react if Darling became infertile after giving birth to Charlotte?

I recently learnt that it's a common thing for women to struggle to convince after their first because of the hormone in balances. Do you think he would blame it on her, or just accept that maybe he would only be able to have the one child?

ofc he would be devastated upon finding out but honestly i don't think he would blame it on her, i feel like his delusional ass would view it as something that must be awful for her too. like finding out she'd never walk again or something. he'd overcompensate for his own grief in the way that he does by just pouring himself into babying her, if that makes sense

that's not to say it wouldn't bother him that darling isn't as torn up about it as he is. on particularly rough days i could see him picking a fight with her about why she doesn't seem to care.

I just wanna ask, what gave you inspiration to name her Charlotte Abigail?

the name ‘abigail’ was suggested by my darling @natureplay because it means “my father’s joy,” which felt very accurate for sp!leon <3 that decision also inspired his fervent reading of the baby name book in the past few chapters hehehehe

i chose ‘charlotte’ as a reference to ‘the yellow wallpaper’ by charlotte perkins gilman! it’s a piece that impacted me very much and has served as a massive tonal inspiration for sp, so i wanted to give a nod to it <3333

I wanted to highlight the way you have of describing the baby that made me laugh especially when comparing her to a gummy bear, really really loved the way this chapter was written 💗💗

i thought the ‘gummy bear’ comparison was applicable cus newborns are already so alarmingly tiny and RED!!!! THEYRE SO PINK/RED!!!!!! but esp lil preemies like lottie ;w;

i really wanted to demonstrate how staggering it would feel to see her like that for the first time— even knowing she was being born premature, we as humans have an idea in our minds of what we expect newborns to look like, and there’s no way to anticipate how truly *teeny tiny* a baby is at seven-ish months until you’re holding one in your arms (i would imagine). what we think of in our minds as a 4lbs little baby is probably more generous than the reality of how light and small they are ;n;

scenarios/drabbles: yes probably!

I suddenly wondered if Darling had a pet (maybe a small dog, a cat or another animal) would Leon have taken it too? I think it would be hard for darling to lose her pet.

Perhaps this question has already been asked, but I suddenly became very concerned about this topic.

this actually hasn't been asked before that i can remember, ur totally good!!

as the mother of a 7 year old chihuahua with mutual attachment issues i will admit that i am biased on this topic. that being said he would TOTALLY have taken it as well..

i can't see him having any interest in getting rid of it, especially knowing it would only injure his already fragile standing with darling, and leaving them behind could have just complicated the initial kidnapping (i.e. neighbors hearing the dog barking or the cat scratching at the door, family/law enforcement knowing darling wouldn't voluntarily leave without their pets, etc.)

the only motivation i could see him having for not bringing them with is if he thought darling being lonely/grieving would push her toward him quicker, but he's already making her pretty lonely and grievous and dependent on him regardless, so i just don't think it would be necessary. no need to kick darling while they're already down.

obvi i don't think he would take darling and baby out to trick or treat for "safety reasons" but i do think he would at least dress them up and do cute halloween stuff at home

i was just discussing with a few beloved friends that i think sp!leon would dress himself, darling, and baby up as salt, pepper, and paprika from blue's clues ;n; <3333333 and then i bet he'd be happy to sit at home w them all day watching movies, making cider, eating too much candy and probably making those pillsbury halloween cookies yk ;n; these ones ;n;

tbh this is such a good question it makes my chest hurt STOPPPPP cus he would 100% be the "BE GOOD TO YOUR MOTHER!!!!!!!!!" type.....................,,,,,, i am falling into a pile on the floor sobbing and screaming and wailing AAAAAAAAAAAAA

ofc we all know sp!leon sees practically no flaws in darling and he's almost always going to ride for her (within his own weird boundaries that we're already well aware of yk) so i really do think it would just break his heart so bad to see darling feeling hurt/dejected by baby snapping at her or what have you.

even sp!leon understands that disagreeing w your parents is part of growing up sometimes, but that doesn't mean he's cool with it

i don't imagine he lets it bother him too much (outwardly at least) when baby argues/disagrees with him bc Manufactured Stoicism may as well be sp!leon's middle name atp, but if he ever witnessed baby lashing out or yelling at darling, he would shut it down quiiiiick

"excuse me, are you hearing yourself right now, young lady? you do not get to talk to your mother like that. now show some respect and apologize."

and once the sun is down, and darling and leon can crawl into bed together, he'll just let her cry on him. he'll hold her and shush her and pet her hair, and remind her as many times as she needs to hear it that she's just doing her best, and baby doesn't quite get that yet, but one day she will.

yesyes don't worry i am usually okay with showing crumbs, but to be completely and totally honest rn i just don't feel like i have enough to share yet!! i just moved recently so this past month has been quite a bit Nuts and i haven't made as much progress on it as i normally would have by now ;n;

buuuuuut if u want a glance i can give a tiny glance cus there's actually a lil something i would enjoy some input from y'all on >:3

after Much Deliberation (overthinking way too hard and leaning way too far into symbolism and a very specific literature reference that May Or May Not Land) i am currently stuck between two potential choices for baby's first name.
