Finally had a chance to wear our 1944 Soviet pilot dress uniforms. The RKKA VVS( Military Air Force) included 3 all female air regiments as well as women in various relateded roles in the VVS. The most well known is the 588th Nigh Bomber Aviation Regiment (known as the Night Witches).
We’re both wearing Order of the Red Star and Order of the Great Patriotic War 2nd Class, both common awards for pilots in the later half of the war.
Also, we may have gotten part of the inspiration for putting this impression together by watching the Soviet film Only Old Men are Going into Battle.
Are you really comrades in the RKKA if you don’t grab each other’s belts?

I had a lot of fun at my first tactical doing early war Red Army medic! I learned hauling all your gear, medical equipment, and rifle plus winter Soviet gear makes crawling through mud and grass an experience.
My first time doing Red Army reenacting!
We were potraying the 73rd Guards Rife Regiment of the 25th Guards Ridle Division in defence of the Voronezh region during July-August 1942.

Spent the afternoon hiking near Culp’s Hill in my Soviet gear since I couldn’t attend the event this weekend. Для Родины!
Hey, look everyone, I'm famous. I kid, but yeah flattering film of me getting captured at an event.Â
Granted it was staged.Â
But yeah, fun times, it some what shows how our trenches where completely ruined from the elements. Which is kind of cool since it looks like a mortar hit it.Â
I totally appear at the 1:22 marker.Â
Oh yeah, here are some more photos of the training event. Â You see more of the camp life and the bayonet/e-tool training.Â
I forgot to mention another cool thing we did but didn't get photos of. we actually practiced in the field medical maneuvers. Â How to use you platsch to carry the wounded out of the battle field, how you used the soviet '8 strap' (forgot what it's called) to do the same thing, and basic carry maneuvers like the fireman's carry. Since I was the lightest I was used the demonstrate these tactics.Â
NEXT EVENT WE ARE GOING TO KICK ASS!
