Let's talk about posting other peoples art.
First of all, as an artist and I feel like I could probably speak on behalf of a majority of artists, thanks for posting our art. It means the world to us that you felt the need to do so and share it with others because surely that means you like it enough to show it around.
However, posting an artists art with no link back to the original piece of the artist themselves is extremely damaging to both our reach and personally, the reason why I draw.
I draw for 2 reasons. In no perticular order, the first is that I want to draw. I find it to be a hobby, I find it enjoyable, I've met my best friend through it essentially. It means something TO ME. The second being that I like to draw FOR YOU. If you like my art and you want to see more than that drives me to produce more. If I can crack a smile out of any individual through my art than that's mission complete.
Now, knowing that someone has shared my work, credit or not does of course please me. I'm cracking those smiles, I've essentially reached my goal. However, what about those that have yet to discover who I am and what I do? Or any other artist. What if you're that one person who sees someones art and you think to yourself, "Well damn, I'd like to see more of that!". But alas, there's no source.
Of course, it's simply resolved with a simple backwards image search on google (Not all the time, please bare in mind. Sometimes google does not actually bring those results back, thus making it even further damaging). But isn't the rather simple and polite thing to do, alongside it being relatively easy and takes no extra time is to source back to artist in your original post.
Please consider it from now on when posting others art. It's only fair.
