Razor-wave;
Razor-wave. How did it start? Nobody knows. Why that name? Nobody knows! How FUN is the game? ...Nobody LOATHES!
Every player should have a Wrist codec (WIP) that only emits simple waves from wavelength to frequency, however this simple tool can be enhanced by the elements based on say water waves, pressuring heat to stone and metal, microwaves to fuel the fire, regular strong winds, and a fitting combo of thunder with lightning. These little enhancements are called Sound-chips as, by placing a sound-chip in the codec via a click-n-flick, you have your basic stats in the codec for the chip to utilize in combination of its own base power. The codec is you and the chip is your vessel to grow stronger; no chip means stats return to basic while the chip itself holds the rest!
Now the stats on the chip only cover power and defense while codec keeps track of your strength and willpower and everything else (speed, accuracy, smarts etc.) is based on YOUR physical ability. The willpower stat nullifies the rock, paper, scissors mechanic in order to encourage players to choose an element they prefer rather than the 'what will be strong against this?' kind of thinking! Due to this method, players can customize their own playstyle from a water archer or heavy waterfall to a firewall or precise minefield! Other than that, you fight till you or an opponent reaches an HP of zero.
The other cool part is that the effects used during a battle are super realistic to a point, however this is all virtual and the 'damage' is undone after a battle. This was the only way the company that produced them could get past the safety concerns while also making it fun to watch and do. Do I believe this part could translate well into real life? Well absolutely not; I could see real life turning it into glorified laser tag, but that's why I have this story idea to ignite the imagination. Oh yeah, I do want this to be a real game one day, but right now this is the game that encompasses the story I will introduce later in the week.
Look forward to the premise and characters later.
Also here's what a sound-chip looks like to scale and what it looks like so far (the right one being a Thunder-chip and another I'll explain later)
