Google buys Israeli sound authentication startup SlickLogin
Google has acquired the  Israeli startup SlickLogin which developed a technology that allows websites to verify a user's identity by using sound waves.
The process is simple, the website using this technology send a very low sound through computer speakers, this sound is captured by the user smartphone to verify the identity.
The process might seam simple, but feasibility wise, it require the user to have a specific app installed on his/her smartphone, which give it a very low probability to be famous among the general public, but might be of interest to certain authentication heavy industries like banking, etc ... By acquiring it, Google might not be interested in this tech per se, but in the know how of the team to build a sound authentication process for the Google Glass, or even something related to robotics.Â
