#souless sam

the way soulless sam gets treated both in the show and by the fandom has always annoyed me because i genuinely don’t think he’s as different from regular sam as everyone acts like he is.

people talk about him like he’s this completely separate person, but like when to me he’s literally just sam without all of that guilt and emotional baggage constantly influencing every decision he makes, and he’s still smart, he’s still driven, he’s still sam at his core, he just doesn’t have a conscience telling him to stop and overthink everything. obviously that changes how he acts, but that’s kind of the point. it doesn’t suddenly erase everything that makes him who he is. i’ve always seen soulless sam as sam completely unfiltered, not some 'evil clone' wearing his face and i honestly think people flatten his character into “evil sam” because it’s easier than actually looking at what the show is doing with him, and that’s a shame because he’s one of the most interesting versions of sam in the entire series

Anyway, most of the time I’m writing on my phone with a sleeping baby in one arm. I get a few paragraphs done at a time that sound really good at 2am—they are NOT—so I have to polish it up and make it sound like it was written by a sane human being.

I suppose I could push out a bunch of AI slop to speed the process along, but I’ll hold off on that to protect my remaining dignity.

So hopefully that makes my work more appreciable! 😂
